I hate when people stereotype me as an upstanding citizen when I'm dressed nice
Yeah I used to feel
The same way
But once you get older you're like
I'm still the same person, and you will find out who genuinely likes you when you're bumming it, but in the work field and even in life in general, people are going to judge you on how you look unfortunately.
And it's not even a face thing more so than a dressed thing. Even racial opinions might take a backseat if you're dressed sharp and look good. Then you can throw out your personality.
We had to give a 30 second speech about ourselves and our career field yesterday and I'm the only black dude there. Like I said, I'm a timbs, Lacoste guy so that's what people saw me as. But I was dressed sharp but not only that, I am sharp. So after my 30 second speech about myself and my accomplishments and goals, NO ONE had any negative feedback to give me. I was laughing and joking it up, and even some of the females who originally felt some type of way we're open and talking to me
