The fukked up part is even if they drop their next-gen console next year it won’t matter. The graphical leap nowadays isn’t going to be significant enough for people to justify paying whatever the exorbitant price is gonna be. The only market I can see for it would be people that want a high-end emulation console.

People will abandon those franchises rather than purchasing extra hardware for them.

The core Xbox fan base has shrunk to the point it can’t support Call of Duty and Diablo. Also unless Game Pass is eliminated much of that fan base won’t be paying for those games.

Lastly you run into the problem that buying dedicated game hardware is a mostly millennial thing and younger generations don’t care about it so much.

The business model the way we knew it is done. They could maybe make those timed exclusive games but people will wait.

There’s no going back.

We’ve already seen people cool off on COD ain’t no 25% left to jump, especially not to a 1000 dollar plus machine. COD is casual fair, and a lot of them are still on ps4

Taking Microsoft away from PC is crazy but to save the brand, I reluctantly agree.

I’d buy a console for Fable, State of Decay 3 and Halo if they were piff. With them being on PC, there’s no point
