GTA3 is the best, but not for the reasons many of you might think. I say its the best because of the impact it had and the leap in gameplay it took from the 3 that preceded it. Now obviously I loved SA just as much as anyone here and its certainly a classic. I have the give GTA5 top honors though simply because they took nearly everything they'd done in the past and refined it. The shooting and driving took a drastic step forward and played more like Uncharted and NFS, two of the first things I've noticed. Also the framerate issues that have plagued every game before seem to be ironed out, but I may be wrong here. Fighting mechanics still aren't very good I can't front on that. Also the online is great its only downfall was the initial days when the R* servers were getting pounded.

GTA 4 drivin physics and cop AI ?:mindblown::camby:

:why: :what:

You can't be serious, breh.

GTA V's driving KILLS IV.

IV's was straight fukking garbage. Ruined the game.

Point is, IV driving was more fun, crashing into police cars with a Large vehicle :ohlawd:

Driving around with a Fire Truck or Hummer with multiple stars :ohlawd:

With the Hummer in IV you could flip cars over or drive right over them like a monster truck, I loved doing that.

Unrealistic? Probably but it was fun :pachaha:

I used to kill hours just messing around with the police in the game.

I tried to do this with the big construction truck found in the desert and both times I tried running over a car one exploded under me and I died :beli: within five minutes too :beli: Another rare vehicle that's fukking useless.

So were not gonna act like they made the cops harder than previous GTA games, some blogger on YT noticed that as well so its not only me :mjpls:

You really like how the cops are in GTA V? :why: Its nearly impossible to win a shootout with them unless you're using Trevor's special ability. GTA V cops are :trash:

They made GTA V too realistic is some aspects.

SA still has the crown. I initially was ready to crown V as the GOAT, but it's simply not as enthralling, nor as fun as SA imo. I haven't beaten it yet and have no desire to, currently. Haven't picked it up in almost two months. I actually had more fun with SA and Saints Row 2. V is still a good game, though.

GTA IV, on the other hand, was the worst and possessed the most tedious and mundane mission structure in the series. Not sure how anyone can enjoy that, but to each his own.

I enjoyed it more than GTA IV that's for sure but the online had to be the biggest pile of steaming shyt I've ever played. I was absolutely disgusted at what it turned out to be. How they didn't do a 1:1 copy of Max Payne 3's gameplay left me boggled. Max Payne 3's gameplay feels super smooth and they went and created this jank??? I implore any of you to play MP3's online and then come back to GTA V and see how fukked up they made it.

The main things that frustrated the online for me was
  • terrible lobby wait times due to the innumerable parameters they set it in place.
  • Horrible shooting mechanics
  • Takes WAAAAY too long to load up the game.
I feel like the game will have to be rereleased on this gen consoles/PC again souped up to make up for the failures.

Story mode I haven't even beat it yet :lolbron: I'm waiting on the definitive PC version to come out though, by then it should be much better with fixes and mods as well as DLC.

In most ways you measure games objectively, GTAV is arguably the best game in the series. The refined driving/shooting mechanics, massive world and customization puts it up there with the series best if you look at it without letting shyt like nostalgia and sentimental value get in the way.

A lot of people dont wanna admit it, but GTA as a concept is played out. You can only drive, shoot etc for so long these days. So even if the newer games are technically as good (and they are), GTA as an idea is not as groundbreaking/exciting as it used to be so people literally pretend the games are falling in quality when in reality they're just falling in newness.

Most of yall hating on V because the online was hyped to the heavens and ended up DOA...

The map in GTAV was fantastic and from a pure gameplay mechanics standpoint its easily the best game in the franchise...You can actually play that shyt with free aim which was damn near impossible with any other GTA game on a console...My biggest issue in terms of gameplay was the driving, the fukking cars have no weight...Hit a ramp at max speed in a Bugatti and you'll fly across 1/4 of the map...:smh:

The story on the other hand was weak and so were most of the characters...Aside for Trevor and Lamar all them other dudes were forgettable...Overall it was a very good game though and far more enjoyable than GTAIV...

If I had to rank them...

This.

I got pretty tired of the game after completing it but didnt have much bad to even say about it....I just didnt feel like playing it anymore. It improved most aspects of the games and gave us so many side-games and things to do. I realized that I had gotten a bit bored of the structure of it. We love III, Vice City and SA cause they were completely unrivalled up to that point. I found it difficult to "immerse" myself in 5 like I did with those, and it might be cause we've already played this game a few times already

Game was incredible tho

I think GTA V is the best and I actually enjoy the online. I think they fukked up not having Vegas and San Fran, and they really fukked up with the deathmatches online which are not fun AT ALL. I want to be able to use the whole map in a deathmatch, the whole free roam with the whole city active and a maxed out number of players. It was fun in IV and im sure it would be better in this setting. WTF was the reason for having deathmatches in isolated areas?????

Dialogue in this game was funny as hell. I love the idea of swapping out characters. I think I like it more than GTA IV... but I can't say for sure until they drop some DLC for this game. I haven't bothered playing it online.

GTAs have been so good, it's hard to pick a favorite. :ohlawd:
