Fam, I'm originally from NY and I've said the same thing. There's plenty of young Black kids that are willing to do manual labor if they'll be paid at least minimum wage. Where the hell are Black people supposed to go when Mexicans and other illegals come take over our hoods? A lot of dudes out here barely have shyt but since it seems America favors illegals over Black people we're gunna lose the little we have. I hope y'all can see why I don't play when it comes to education. I have my Bachelor's degree so I'm not worried about myself. But I'm damn sure worried for all lower class Black people. Illegals when they first get into the country tend to live in lower class areas with Black people. It first starts off as a few moving in but before you know it they overpopulate the shyt and overrun the area.
Dudes gotta drop this talk about shytting on blacks that don't have skills or education...thats MOST of white america and we forget that too...its just that the sky is the limit for those dudes

BTW, I used to avoid this issue cause immigration legal/illegal is kind of a touchy subject...but you can't deny at this point this shyt is hurting young black people's chances for survival in this country. People use the race/ethnicity angle as a source of guilt.
I'm pretty sure we all know how the job market is laid out for us black folk in America. Our numbers are mainly found in the lowest paying jobs there are available, from unskilled/skilled work like construction, road/highway repair, delivery, the service industry (cooking, cleaning, retail), etc and are barely found the higher up you go into the scale of jobs in means of importance. It's not just numbers and our demographic in relationship to the rest of the population in America, it's BEEN by design period. So that we would be nothing more than the servant class of America, but now it looks like Hispanics are vying for that label to move ahead in America as they create their own businesses and industries that cater to them so they have a network that continues to build...at our expense. This is how ALL groups of immigrants, legal and illegal...think of black americans.
You can't even say West Indians or Africans do better at this point. For every one of us that becomes a doctor, lawyer, engineer, etc in America there are 100s that have no education or degrees from schools in their home countries that aren't worth shyt in America. And let's face it, most Africans and West Indians share the same problems with upward mobility as African Americans and most are having their children move DOWN in class instead of up. Cause of anti-blackness and the legacy of white supremacy and racism in America.
If you haven't been paying attention and putting 2 + 2 together...I don't know what to tell you. Seriously. This really is a concentrated effort to keep black people at the bottom. White people created the blueprint, asians, indians, hispanics/latinos, etc follow it to advance themselves at BLACK people's expenses cause they all are complicit in exploiting us monetarily or politically or socially as a buffer for their own goals.
Which makes me feel bad for young black graduates that have to work twice as hard...just to even get a call back for an interview, or a second interview...or accepted for that position. THAT"S the hard part...not college, not work...getting our fukking feet in the goddamn door! Is the hardest.
So honestly, it doesn't matter to me at this point. No black person is the exception. It doesn't matter how high your GPA is, how many internships and references you have, how extensive your resume is, if you did STEM...you will still be at THEIR mercy trying to get in....in the face of a white employer who has no problem throwing your resume in the trash cause he/she hates your blackness. At the end of the day, we have NO choice but to build our own shyt, how long are we gonna be trying to sing our way in?

Salute. This is what happens when brehs don't politicize basic concepts, words, and ideologies, but instead objectively view the reality of a situation
Over the years, the three main reasons that changed my views on illegal immigration:
- the direct impact it has on employment opportunities for black folks
- I felt like a hypocrite to defend illegal immigration because we could take advantage of folks, "who will do jobs american won't," while then later complaining about Americans being taking advantage of and/or their civil rights being violated by corporations, police, judicial systems etc
- Every country has the right and duty to defend their borders. The moment I called another person or country anti immigrant for wanting to defend their border, then I'm being intellectual dishonesty and using labels to bully/intimidate others

Fam I'm not tryna shyt on Black folk without skills or education, never that.
I just brought up having a degree because it gives you leverage in situations like this. I feel like Black people shouldn't be competing for jobs with illegals, but at the same time I've seen the things that happen in the hood and I understand why some Black folk end up looking for whatever job they can get.
You know what's funny though? Afro-Mexicans are treated so badly and marginalized so much in that country, up to the point that most people don't even know they exist. So if Mexicans keep coming here in large numbers and eventually attain positions of power, what makes Black people in the U.S think they'll be treated any differently from Afro-Mexicans in Mexico? The same shyt will happen here if we're not careful.

Why the fukk are our expectations so low that we're fighting illegals over bullshyt jobs? Those jobs, by and large, and BULLshyt. I'm not seeing Africans angry about this. Is always some nikkas arguing about some minimum wage job as if we should be first pick for some bullshyt ass job, but wont catch yall (black men) asses at any of the resume writing workshops, small business workshops, career transition workshops, none of that, but wanna be mad at some Mexicans because they took a job that didn't even require the ability to read.
breh not everybody can be a boss, a doctor, a lawyer or work in stem. there will always be a segment of our society that prefers working with their hands and there is nothing wrong with that. throughout the 50s, 60s, and 70s many AA men were able to support their families and live decent lives with these inner-city blue-collar jobs. now they're having to compete w/ illegals that sink wages and get preferential treatment from hiring managers. after getting told 'no' 10-15 times, it's not a surprise these brothers are turning back to the streets.
