tough year for New York bruhs :mjcry:

http://financialjuneteenth.com/diddy-just-started-revolt-tv-and-its-already-struggling/

It hasn’t been a whole year yet since Sean “Diddy” Combs launched his music channel Revolt TV, and already, the network is struggling in the face of the challenges it has encountered. The fact that Time Warner Cable and Comcast are in a proposed merger isn’t going to make things any better.

Revolt TV is partially owned by Comcast, and the proposed merger is discouraging other companies from picking it up. This could prove financially fatal for the new entrant. After all, on average, it takes about $100 million to launch a new channel, and advertising is the primary source of income for most networks. But, in the case of Revolt TV, other cable companies are not picking it up and this in turn is making it unattractive to potential advertisers.
One of the tiny hopes for the network is the financial backing of Sean “Diddy” Combs. Combs is worth several hundred million dollars, and may have to dig into his deep pockets in order to save the network. But the massive costs of running a network are tough to handle for even the wealthiest Americans, and Diddy is the first to admit that his wealth is not liquid.
:pachaha: you bay nikkas stay on ny dikk...damn near every thread yall make has NY in it:mjlol:

didn't he just get some crazy deal with Verizon FIOS, tho..?

http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/5914944

With our late October debut on Verizon FiOS, REVOLT will now be available in 46 of the top 50 U.S. markets on Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Centurylink and SuddenLink. ‎This timing is significant because it coincides with our one-year anniversary on-air. We have worked hard to get to this point and I am excited to celebrate this milestone at the inaugural REVOLT Music Conference Oct 16-19 in Miami Beach.

I told y'all way back that this was a BAD IDEA

Mainly cause COMCAST was FORCED into allowing minority led networks by Congress...they wasn't gonna do right as far as making it appealing to advertisers

or much less promoting it...I don't even think it's offered on my Comcast service :why:

they treated it like a Section 8 network

Comcast did Oprah like that in the beginning she had to beg Comcast to broadcast it in HD

but Diddy shouldn't worry his DADDY aka RON BURKLE will bail him out since he is one of the hedge fund investors and owns Sean John anyway

This shyt flopping is no surprise to me, nikka tryna go back in history by bringing "Music Television" back, that shyt dead...

Everything is internet based now...better off tryna make a more serious music vlog style version of worldstar with a mixtape download component to it

This right here. I knew from jump that shyt wasn't going to work. I mean why would they think it would when the fukking OG Music TeleVision program [MTV] doesn't even play music anymore. BET cut all their music programs a looong time ago, with 106n park being the only remaining and that will be gone in a month.

Like you said they were better off taking 500,000 of that 100million dollars and start a site to comepte with Worldstar, datpiff, and livemixtapes or something

Interesting. Yeah, I remember Oprah having major issues with her network after the launch. I think I even remember her saying that if she had the chance she wouldn't do it again. The channel seems to be doing alright now though... Right?

yeah cause she the one that brought the issue to CONGRESS and got FEMINISTS backing her as well as,the race, issue

but to her credit Oprah has better content than Diddy..

the Tyler Perry shows and original programming is a lot better than the music videos Diddy is offering

plus she signed a better deal with Comcast to expand her subscribers

Oprah decided to cater to black women & it paid off. Lifetime is jumping on that wave now

I haven't watched tv since 2005. Other than the promo of diddy being involved in the network, I don't even know what revolt is.
