Why are people so thirsty to still work at home?

It was one thing during the height and prime moments of COVID-19 but we're way past that now, and by that I mean yeah sure covid still around but it definitely ain't like it was during it's prime weeks and months.

Working from home was never meant to be a permanent thing so I don't understand why people are appalled at the idea of going back to work in an office, sit inside a cubicle, etc (if that's the kind of job they are working) when that's what they've been doing prior to the pandemic.

Bosses and managers aren't fans of working from home because they can't keep tabs on you, which is understandable as a person could be slacking at home and not working the days and hours they're supposed to be working but will mark themselves as doing so.

At the end of the day, educated high demand YOUNG workers with options dictate the work market. What one company won’t, others will. And then other companies will have no choice but to follow. And then government will always be desperate for talent pulling up the rear

So that’s one thing I’m with gen z on. They live with their parents and have a general ‘meh’ attitude about work so they will turn down a 6 figure job to go be an artist. That benefits remote work

Yeah this is my line of thinking. They better watch out. Corporations could easily use the logic of "Oh so you can do the work remotely, let us get cheaper labor elsewhere". Best Buy and Walmart already do that with having overseas customer call center agents

But in the end, this all wouldn't matter and people would go back to work in the office again. NYC wants to put money back into the MTA, Restaurants and Deli's will make more money with workers eating on their lunch break, retail stores will make money with workers buying something after their shift, etc. NYC makes alot of money with workers physically going to work

Told ya'll a year ago, Corporations gonna do what they want. All this cheering for "amazing work from home jobs" bout to disappear :dead::dead::dead::dead::dead:

Told y'all

Some of this office space can maybe be eliminated or make more space for housing or any number of other possibilities. This could potentially help save on energy and other resources if you eliminate so of this office space.
Those businesses downtown are applying pressure. Aren't there studies that show WFH has increased productivity for companies?

Yeah, but what are they gonna do with these hundred-floor thousand-foot skyscrapers that are mostly office buildings? :skip:

People are leaving the house less, which means they're spending less too, that's what has them worried.

I don't give a fukk what they do with it. As I said in another post they took a risk no guarantee that space will be rented. We don't get a mulligan when we take risk and lose as everyday people lol.
