is that post true? yes or no. and thats a real simple question
Yes, its true. Open borders or something close would be detrimental to the standard of living for many Americans. My point, though, is that the standard of living for most Americans is predicated on the exploitation of resources and labor from many of the countries where these migrants are coming from. As such, regardless of how strict (re: brutal) your border policy, they're still going to come. How far are you willing to go to "secure the border"? Machine gun turrets? Drone strikes? There's a reason people will risk so much to get here, and its larger than "Dems are stupid lol" - which seems to be your only point here.
To your previous post, I'm not suggesting migrants are coming with hopes of getting what the wealthiest 5% percent of Americans have. I'm saying, on a global scale, nearly all Americans are the wealthy 5%, mostly at the expense of the 95%. It's the same reason why I have a hard time taking seriously well-to-do Americans arguing for wealth distribution in America while completely ignoring their relative wealth on a global scale. There's a reason why Socialism is internationalist...its seem American Socialists are still basically nationalists who are picking and choosing from Socialist doctrine only in instances where it benefits them. But, hey, that's the American way I suppose.
So, no, there's no answer that Americans are willing to accept. I suspect both parties will keep using this issue as a political football to score points in polls, though.
