It's tricky.
If we're talking black Native Americans who KNOW they are black Native Americans and still practice certain traditions, I'd probably say ~183K is accurate.
Issue is, a lot of Native American tribes DISOWNED the black members for a number of reasons. So a lot of people (myself and my family included) don't associate with or claim the tribes like that anymore. Current numbers may be lower.
Plus, I live in North Texas (Oklahoma isn't too far away) so I see a lot of people from Oklahoma who look like black seminoles. So if we're talking about black Native Americans who are black Native Americans and don't know, that number could be double or triple.

I'm African and I'm far from the only non-AA black person that caught on to Obama's shyt. It's hella obvious at this point.
Even if direct reparations are currently unfeasible, how about a workaround instead? Someone mentioned improving current urban areas without kicking the locals out, for example. Far from ideal, but it's something, a start. I'm sure the experts can come up with far better ideas.
Obama and his team found a huge workaround that benefited latinos heavy when it came to immgration via executive orders, even when the constitutionality of said orders were shaky. It's ultimately a matter of political will.
The biggest mistake that Congress did was not pay back slaves the same generation that slavery ended. Now, it's a big, confusing mess that many black folk never kept record of, now demanding money from all the businesses to 40 + million blacks and even biracialson top of black immigrants.
I bet you that if/when them reparation checks start being cut, many whites and otherpeople will suddenly call themselves black.

this is how i am. i don't need reparations to be successful. i got two classes til i graduate with a marketable degree, didn't need reparations for that. i would take the shyt, but it would be mostly symbolic bc it would be my ancestors that actually suffered and could not get it

Indeed. In fact, congress did pass a reparations bill, both the house and senate. Only reason it didn't go down is because Andrew Johnson vetoed it.

Obama clearly just used AA culture and etc. to become President. We are the ones that put his ass in office.

By all intents and purposes he is an immigrant. He has more in common with Latinos than he do AAs. Despite the fact that Obama deported more Mexicans than any other president...he at least laid the ground work and pushed the idea that illegal immigrants should stay in the USA.
Obama is already shooting down any government program that could save us AAs from being the permanent underclass of the USA.
Us, AAs have this selfishness about us that makes believe every person of African descent...should be down with our struggle...which in turn make us easily exploitable.

I do think there can be a case for reparations( in my life right now, they'd be a Godsend) but even though Barry's looking funny to me in the light, i do understand his hesitation. We can't get the majority of white americans to believe that perhaps the boys in blue need to be reformed.
You think they're going to stand by and say nothing, much less support a pay out that specifically is pushed to support the bettering of African Americans?
And even if hell froze over and the ain't ish politicians and public DID support it, how do you decide who gets a check, or a taxation negation, or free higher education?
My father is Carribean, and my mother's father is as well. Only my maternal grandmother is technically, African American.
Do i get anything, basically being only 1/4th AFAM?
What about the biracials, or the i got a black great grandfather/grandmother brigade?
Bunch of 5 dollar Negroes walking around, i bet.
Still, even though i say all this, if Obama pushed it, even knowing that in today's poltical climate it's a losing battle, i'd respect him just for trying to get on the right side of history.
But the guys a politician, so he decided to focus on fights he felt he could win, rather than charging at windmills via idealism.

So all the government has to do is vote on and sign off on going to borrow the mormon churches information and track down 5 million black peoples 10-20 million descendants and had them money? It's not going to happen and white people would burn this country down if the notion was even brought up.
Because it's true. Being black doesn't mean you have to hive mind any and every idea. Here is the black president of the U.S saying it is damn near impossible to pull off. Read through the coded words. Politically infeasible = the opposing side will never let it go down without tons of problems. You have a better chance of the 2nd amendment and abortion being outlawed than black american reparation checks being signed off on. We need to understand that and take that knowledge and move on with our lives.
