Aint South Side where a majority of black youth deaths occur...if so...then let the gentrification began. .....:yeshrug:
They'll just move like 20 miles outside the city into areas with apartment complexes and the cycle repeats :francis:

It doesnt take much for a kid with no parental guidance to be a young goon.

I live south jersey and this area is sprinkled with young idiots tryna do dirt, slang drugs and catch bodies for stupid shyt.

Lol @ people saying gentrification is beneficial.

Are you guys forgetting that racism exists? All gentrification will do is expose the poor white population to better jobs and facilities that those jobs they will get will enable them to enjoy.

It does nothing for the poor black people because those jobs and facilities will either block is from getting in or have us come in extremely limited amounts job wise which will end up with he majority of our poor not getting in and being forced to move somewhere else and staying poor.

We need a solution for the issue of racism because that is what shuts down most of our chances to improve.

Then chicagos black community handed it to em on a plate. I remember watching the documentary “The House I live in” - they actually had it touring the country at local YMCA’s

That was 6 years ago. It’s actually gotten a lot WORSE since then.

I’m against gentrification too but Obama’s right about negros being mad about his community center, even though it’s a black war zone as is right now

Exhibit A: the South Suburbs. Shame what has became of some of those towns. Middle class black neighborhoods will always be in peril if lower class blacks continue to have access to them. That’s the gentrification no one is talking about.
Bad example, south burbs got bad cuz they tore down the jects and handed everybody and they mama a section 8 voucher :russell:

Harvey, Dolton, Riverdale use to be beautiful middle class cities before all the section 8 jects nikkas moves in :mjpls:

you're basically saying black ppl in poverty are pieces of shyt and don't want them near you. that's the same way cac feel about all black ppl. I hate you bytch ass bourgeois nikkas

Of course you do, you emotional ass nikka. Let me put it in a way that coddles your insecurities. We have enough people championing causes to assist the poor. I'm not taking away from that. But no one champions the issues facing the black middle class for fear of being accused of being an elitist. The fact of the matter, if we don't have a strong robust middle class, the entire black community is in jeapardy.

Black middle class families are already in a tenuous position. Their net worths are tied up in their homes. Once real estate prices sink, there goes their collective net worths. We need safety nets in place to protect that and to protect families from falling out of the middle class. Whites Chicagoan had that in the form of redlining, which kept their neighborhoods home prices stable. Obviously, I'm not advocating for that but we need to think of solutions that are appropriate for our situation.

What doesn't work for black middle class neighborhoods are policies that allow inner city blacks equipped with section 8 vouchers to move into the neighborhood in droves. This will:

1) Increase the number of rental units, which will then...
2) Increase the transient population, which will then...
3) Decrease the tax base from which the local schools are funded, which will then...
4) Drive down property prices...

Not too mention, as the population increasingly becomes low-income, they will not be able to sustain the businesses that cater to the middle-class in the area. Businesses are going to leave and be taken over by payday loan stores and other businesses that cater to a low income crowd, further depreciating property prices. This doesn't help black middle class families.

This doesn't help the black teachers, police officers, doctors, lawyers, and business owners, whom for the most part, service the black community. If they are not in a secure position, how can they be effective at upliftment and service to the rest of the community?

And what point is it to encourage the impoverished and the working poor to a middle-class lifestlye without any safeguards to prevent them from falling back when they arrive? That's my point. Take your emotions out of it.

Country Club Hills, Hazel Crest, Homewood, Flossmoor, Olympia Fields, Matteson, Richton Park, South Holland are becoming shytholes. This just happened.

Carson's Abruptly Shutters Matteson Store; Village Cries Foul

"Despite the recent closures of other major retailers, including Toys R Us and Sam’s Club..."

How the fukk does a Sam's Club close? You can add to that Target, Jewel, Dominicks, Best Buy, and all the rest of the stores along the Lincoln Highway corridor thats being replaced by payday loans stores, liquor stores, and discount retail stores.

There is literally a Walmart in Olympia Fields. Olympia Fields, along with Flossmoor, was ranked in the top 25 most affluent neighborhoods in Illinois back when my family was living there in the 80's and granted, those neighborhoods were about a quarter black then. But it makes no sense. Meanwhile, the other neighborhoods listed in the top 25 then are still listed in the top 25 in 2018.

We have to do something to preserve black middle-class wealth. And since this is tied up in their properties, we have to do something to preseve their neighborhoods from going under.

:ehh:

you make good points, but even if black middle class neighborhoods don't allow in low income blacks they still face decline because the children in these middle class neighborhoods still face economic obstacles that can easily push them back into poverty.

Gentrification has no choice but to come south in Chicago. The north side is overpopulated and there's no land there. West side could regentrify, but ur getting more bang for your buck out south no question.

I'm just gonna say this here, decipher it however you want:

What if this library opens up more job opportunities with higher paying salaries for minorities? It's a given fact that certain economic landmarks create increase in rent and there's no way around that. It's apart of economics. Higher Quantity = Higher Prices and any policy advisor or economists will tell you that. White ppl are going to move wherever they want and we can't control that as much as blacks. We also can't associate cheaper neighborhoods with minorities because that's subliminally racist as fukk in the video.

The bigger problem is that minorities are not getting better jobs, they're mentally getting beaten down and oppressed from jobs not hiring/discriminating and as a result, we lose a sense of value of self. When that happens, crime increases. Give our ppl value and relevance in those neighborhoods, rent goes up but jobs will pay more causing a decline in the crime rate. (It also would help if we had a mentally stable president like Bernie Sanders to enforce free education on community colleges to inspire many people to get back into school)

Also why are we quick to jump the gun when guys like Obama and Chance are focusing education and programs on blacks and minority children to have better futures?

The same thing that this cac is preaching in the video is the same thing these racist conservatives preach in red states to convey us away from encouraging our people while secretly plotting a hidden agenda. They know that they have a diamond spoon in their mouth and their job is to give minorities a cubic zirconium spoon to make them believe they're apart of their plans to shut them up and manipulate them. Hence you have white Hispanics like ted Cruz who Chuck and jive for trump or ignore their ancestral roots for cacs. If we keep believing that cubic zirconium is diamond and that anyone that doesn't give us hand outs is a plant, we'll never get anywhere. We'll only become our own oppressors.

Stop that minorities shyt:mjlol:

Dig it, but the majority of the murders do come from that for 6-10 block area of the South Side right?

Also if this where say a Lupe Fiasco building this it would be promoted as positive for the culture, but since its Obama, nikka got the :scust: face. ............
