The goalposts are being moved in here, and the argument keeps changing with every post. It starts with a QB not being worth that high pick, then it turns into "Oh, only elite QB's are worth more than defensive players".

2016: Brady
2015: Broncos defense
2014: Brady
2013: Wilson/Seahawks defense
2012: Flacco
2011: E. Manning
2010: Rodgers
2009: Brees
2008: Big Ben
2007: E. Manning/defense
2006: P. Manning
2005: Big Ben

The majority of that list of Super Bowl winning QB's since 2005 are upper echelon QB's.

Let's take it a step further and go with the final four QB's during the past few years;

2016: Brady, Rodgers, Ryan, Precott
2015: Brady, Newton, Palmer, Brock/Manning
2014: Brady, Luck, Wilson, Rodgers
2013: Brady, P. Manning, Kap, Wilson
2012: Flacco, Brady, Kap, Ryan

The majority of the QB's that remained were either elite or more than average during those seasons. The QB position is without a doubt the most important position.
I find interesting which qbs you put defense next to

I only did that because I know that the rebuttal will focus on those defenses being the reason for those victories, I put defense for the Broncos last Super Bowl win as well as the QB's were not elite.

Beli just gave away Chandler Jones and Jamie Collins for nothing ... and they still won the title lmao

Oh, but he won't trade his backup QB for a ransom :ohhh:

:mjlol:

The Pats stay hustling the game. They'll send a player to the Browns where he's no threat to a playoff run. Then they'll get a another player from the Colts:gucci:. If Luck is healthy and you end up in the playoffs you now have to face a team you helped improve. Even if the Saints are in the NFC why would you consider sending them Cooks?

If I'm a GM and I see a Massachusetts area code on my phone I'm not answering. I'll call up the Dolphins or Broncos and deal with them:youngsabo:

Eagles going Britt. Bucs going Jackson. 9ers going Garcon.

That's giving me some hope about Alshon back to Bears. Titans might make a player tho

you have 20 million to spend, whats better - paying an average/above average qb 20 million or paying two elite defensive players and possibly even having some leftover guap ?

having a tom brady or an aaron rodgers is a blessing- theyre hof qbs. and yet neither was selected high up in the draft and neither was drafted to a barren team.
a hof defender has the same impact. revis in his prime or ray lewis in their prime had the same effect.

why would you choose someone like stafford over two elite defenders ? exactly.

I agree with you on overpaying average QB's. If Glennon is 14 million I'd rather divi that money on 2-3 quality players and draft a QB. The Bears can start their rookie at a discount for 3 years and build the rest of the team like Seattle.

Look at the Jets and Fitzpatrick or any team that starts Hoyer.

You can win with a very good to elite QB if you build around them. The Eagles could have had a chip or two had they cut McNabb some WR's.

Yeah but those teams were supposedly his market and they are committing to other guys. How's that not a good sign for Bears right now?

Also from what I've read, teams have same concerns Beats do. That he isn't reliable with his health

:ehh: ill take it.. always showed tons of potential and had a decent year last yr with bums throwing to him
As long as the contract isn't anything ridiculous, I'm fine with it. We needed a starting calibre guy on the outside very badly
