Truth or falsehood the question is still the same. Why did Warren decide to do this? If it is true today it was true a year ago but we're hearing about it now.

Let's say Bernie told her he fukked a goat in their private meeting, question would still be the same. Why leak or if it makes you happier "tell the truth" that Bernie fukked a goat now?

Come on now. You know why he led with that. Lawyers have a way of asking questions to solict a certain response. They also listen to responses to decide if statements made should be expounded on. They listen to word play to gauge if a person is being truthful or trying to minimize their part in the situation, especially prosecutors. This whole shyt is stupid. He said it, regardless of how she took it but when asked about it, she answered Bernie was her friend and deescalted. People are mad it came out and mad she wont deny it. Lol. It's impossible that she didn't leak it. That detail from a two person meeting doesn't just leak like that.

If she didn't leak it personally then it would have had to have been someone extremely close to her, who would've had to get her approval. This is a major campaign decision that doesn't just happen in a Slack message.

What’s funny is all the media and everybody on this thread talking about Bernie’s denial but he really didn’t deny what was actually said. He denied something that sounded like what was said. Classic lawyering. I’m sure that language was intentional.

My only beef is with the moderators framing of the question. The question should have been did you say to Warren that you didn’t think a woman could beat Trump OR ANY SIMILAR STATEMENT? I can respond no to a lot of alleged statements if I didn’t say it word for word, because technically I didn’t say exactly what you asked. And that is why I lead with “as an attorney”. I do recognize that initial phrase is oozing with douchebaggery but

This has all been very disheartening. I posted a couple months ago that we should rally behind Warren....I'm not feeling that way anymore. This is reminding me way too much of the cookbook story and her career as a Republican, not only does it bother me a great deal right now but it does absolutely nothing to improve her general election chances and likely hurts her.

You are way overstating how well she's doing in Iowa. Her current polling makes her candidacy look virtually dead. It looks very likely she could finish 3rd-4th in the first four primaries and she'd be toast at that point.

It's virtually impossible that her campaign didn't leak it. And she also knew she was miked up when she went up to Bernie after the event, and seems a pretty good chance she leaked the exchange to CNN as well so they'd go looking for it.

Believe women doesn’t mean women are perfect and don’t lie. It meant to not discount their stories and to listen earnestly. Warren supporters have 0 integrity here and are exposing themselves as stans. There is no reason to stan any politician, let alone 70 year old white people. But moreover, anyone who leaks a private conversation on the eve of the primary is not your friend of over 20 years and isn’t someone to be fukk with. Warren lost most progressives with this shyt and I don’t know how it isn’t obvious.

I think Bernie is a fantastic candidate and if he's the nominee I would be more excited about his candidacy than any in my lifetime. I just believe Warren when she says he said that shyt.

Several people involved in hiring her at Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania lent their weight to that claim.

Harvard Law School professor Charles Fried, who served as U.S. Solicitor General under President Ronald Reagan and was part of the committee that put Warren in a tenure position, said in a written statement that her ethnicity never came up during the process.

Fried, who donated $250 to Warren's campaign, told the Republican, a Springfield, Mass., newspaper, in 2012, "This stuff I hear that she was an affirmative action hire, got some kind of a boost, it is so ludicrous and so desperately stupid and ignorant, it just boggles the mind."

Asked about Warren’s minority status, Robert H. Mundheim, the dean who hired Warren at the University of Pennsylvania, told the Boston Globe that summer, "‘I don't think I ever knew that she had those attributes and that would not have made much of a difference."

A number of news organizations interviewed dozens of faculty and students from the three law schools where Warren taught, and no evidence emerged that any claim about her ethnic roots played a role in the hiring process.
