I honestly still (want to?) believe that Warren is a good person who finds herself surrounded by wack, disconnected people who don't share her concerns. None of this recent strategy even helps her. It might hurt Bernie, it's hurting her, but it doesn't help the Warren campaign in any way imo. I think these people are more focused on posturing than anything, take Bernie down a peg regardless of the damage done to self. It also makes me think about how Clinton was salty and how it leaked Obama would step up to block Bernie if he were the front-runner and then Warren wound up with Clinton and Obama staffers surrounding her. I'm not sure those people are as concerned with Warren winning as they are with their loyalties to the people they staffed for before Warren.

It's the Yoshimitsu seppuku attack at best.
Yeah, it’s obvious to anyone that this would have hurt Warren more than helped her, so unless you’re right and her team has willingly thrown away all the work they’ve done over the past year and sacrificed her to take down Bernie out of vengeance, the more likely scenario is this wasn’t actually leaked by her or her campaign, but rather by some people in her orbit who heard the story and dislike Bernie and foolishly popped off to some reporters. She’s been harmed by this more than anyone. If you’re right and it’s Clinton-Obama staffers who sold her out, it’s the biggest betrayal/mutiny of a candidate I’ve ever seen.

That script didn't break the pact either.

Lol. It doesn't bad mouth her or anything.

In Warren's case, they stated that the “people who support her are highly-educated, more affluent people who are going to show up and vote Democratic no matter what” and that “she's bringing no new bases into the Democratic Party.”"

I don't know why people keep trying to downplay the script using their own perspective of what it is and how inflammatory it is. All that matters is how the Warren camp feels about it. If they felt it was a punch in the face than it was a punch in the face to them. Call them sensitive or what not but the fact remains is they shouldn't have been in a position to need to judge the script if everything is about progressive unity and what not. You put something out there that a group your allied with can even interpret as inflammatory and they break the truce than that's on you. Why you giving them an opportunity to do so?

At least they didn’t outright lie and mischaracterize things. Everything in that script was factual. He didn’t leak a bullshyt story to CNN and try to orchestrate a hit job at the debate. :francis:

She stole a recipe from the New York Times? :dead:

Yeah. Five of them in fact. On the one hand it was just a small scale recipe book and you can say she was just trying to help her cousin. On the other hand it was pretty dumb. More embarrassing than scandalous.

The facts: Elizabeth Warren and her Native American ties

A recipe for embarrassment

The final snippet of Warren’s tribal tale is trivial but has delighted her critics to no end.

In 1984, a cousin in Oklahoma asked her to contribute recipes for a cookbook billed as "recipes passed down through the Five Tribes families." The book was entitled Pow Wow Chow.

Warren sent five, and under each one, listed herself as Elizabeth Warren, Cherokee.

Given that a cousin asked her to participate, this might lend credence to the notion that at least among her family, a tribal connection was taken for granted.

But it didn’t help that her recipes included one for crab with mayonnaise and another for herbed tomatoes — hardly traditional fare.

And to make matters worse, some of the recipes appear to have been copied from the New York Times wire service.

Other than that PolitiFact entry you can't find shyt about it outside of right-wing websites either. Media kept super quiet. Which I'm glad for but it still plays into the narrative that they're helping their favorites.

That's fine, it's on them to take it how they want. But then the Warren campaign can't cry about sexism when she's being called a snake.

I can't imagine that Warren's campaign advises her staff to tell Bernie supporters that they encounter on the trail "go ahead and vote for Bernie, he's the best candidate"

No, I imagine that they say Warren is the best to unify the party and that Bernie being a 'socialist' might hurt him.

That's not a slight.

It's sad that Liz sank to this level. It's sad that she showed a lack of temperament, maturity and logic in approaching Bernie after the debate while on stage.

She is coming off as a triggered snowflake liberal.

While I’m at it, “According to a recent analysis from the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonprofit, nonpartisan group that tracks money in elections, Sanders has raised the most money from women since he announced his presidential campaign, with at least 40 percent of his funds stemming from women.”

Well what do you know? Bernie has a diverse following deading all the talk of Bernie having problems with women voters.

The whole Bernie Bros. thing is a myth that's taken a life of it's own. Genie is out of the bottle unfortunately.

Regardless of how often it's dissected to show it's not remotely accurate, the smear ain't going anywhere and will continue to unfairly stain any and all of his supporters by the larger mainstream press and internet.

So even though my black ass doesn't have a single social media account and I graduated college when half of these faux progressives were still in grade school, I must be a dude-bro white boy living on campus spamming Twitter all day just because I'm sick of seeing people I loved who were close to me die from a lack of healthcare.

I have to say, this is the first Dem primary I can remember where I didn't know who I would vote for this far in.

2004 - Didn't vote in the primary (was barely old enough to vote and wasn't that interested in the primary, though I voted Kerry in the general)

2008 - Knew I was voting for Obama pretty early on

2016 - Knew I was voting for Bernie pretty early on

Yeah, there's no upside here for Warren and there never was. I think she got dragged into a mess and I sincerely do not trust the team around her. I think her best moments have always come when she's off the cuff. And this makes me think of a few times where she's given answers I really liked when she was on the spot only to have her campaign walk back the boldness to a bit of a safer space. She picked up steam by being the first one out the gate to say "impeach Trump" and that boldness feels muted by the voices around her.

Bernie bros are corny. I’m starting to feel where Hilary was coming from. You spent your whole political career as an Independent and then when it’s time to run for President you want to join up and use the platform of the party you rebuffed for decades. Your supporters are perfectly fine with the Democratic Party, the Media and Liberals as long as Bernie wins the nomination but if he doesn’t then they’re all staying home. A lot of those comments on YouTube eerily resemble Trumpset. And a lot of those cornballs did vote for Trump last time or voted Independent which was essentially a vote for Trump.

There are too many damn debates what is the point of having so many of them?

All they do is go on stage and shyt on each other shyt is stupid to me..

These debates are accomplishing nothing but having them all tear each other down

How many people make up Trumpset? Just because we are different in other ways, politically they can lock and step in the cult of personality that is Bernie.
