Sam Darnold is in the Super Bowl. Don't want to hear anything about Goff not being good enough to get there.
:manny:

Blueprint is clear. Fix the o-line. Get serious about pass rush, specifically in the interior d-line. And shytcan the 3 LB sets.

McVay got Goff there before, so of course he good enough to get there. He just needs an offensive guru(like he had with McVay) or be surrounded by elite offensive talent and defense(like with Darnold)

I hoped he'd be the Lions OC so getting him as passing game coordinator (or whatever the role will be) is a homerun. Great compliment to Petzing and both being in the building should help us develop the younger coaches/assistants in the building.

49ers probably wrong team to be talking but Dan better back off this year. Season is a marathon and your team keeps falling apart. Lions also need to get some real grass at ford field

I agree they need real grass at Ford Field. No reason to have obscene ticket prices but not have a grass field (or some mixture that’s safe).

Chiefs go live in practice and haven’t had injury issues until this season. I don’t think it’s that. I def think guys play too many snaps tho. There is no excuse for Hutch to play 90% of defensive snaps, or Alim to play 70%. Go look at how Seattle, Philly, LA, et keep their d-line fresh with linemen playing 20-35 snaps, vs our guys playing 60-70 snaps a game.

now thinking they need to just go ahead and move Tate to Center. Linderbaum is a good not great C that gonna get way overpaid. Weak center class overall. The guard from PSU would be nice

Crazy thing is that we will get Maxx Crosby later, only difference is that raiders will get little to nothing from it. We see NBA teams make the emotional mistakes like that all the time

A year and a half later, Raiders were dumb as fukk for not trading him at his peak value and Holmes had a second subpar draft in a row and we have the same problems now we had in mid 2024 only we have to add two safeties now.

Id trade a couple first. This is a very weak draft class. With our soft schedule, talent, next years pick should be very late too

Holmes passing on trading picks the last two drafts over to whiff on the picks repeatedly made me kinda bitter. Shows who really built the champion Rams huh. Holmes doesn’t make a big move with the picks and flops on the picks for the 3rd year in a row, he should be on the hot seat

Man he's had 8 surgeries in 7 years. I wouldn't give up a first. He'll be 29 in a few months.

Raiders were dumb to not trade him in 2024 but that's why the Raiders are trash

There's a lot of flexibility to open up money to make this team better. Do I expect or want the Lions to open the max amount of cap space via restructures? No because that would mean restructuring deals of players who might not be here much longer, like Decker, or guys with injury/future concerns like Alim. But we can get over 60mil by restructuring Goff, Amon Ra, and Sewell; basically just turning their salary into a cash bonus and moving some money to void years on the contract. It would be about 67mil opened up and that's before we do anything else (cut Glasgow, possible Decker retirement, etc). After that shyt we could easily have 80mil in cap space.

That's enough to get a vet center (not Linderbaum) and also beef up the defense. Odafe Oweh from the Chargers would fit perfectly. So would Boye Mafe from the Seahawks. Arden Key could be an additional signing for a smaller third down rusher. I think we need a safety too. Not the top guys, but someone to hold down the fort until Branch and Kerby are healthy. Throw in a safety and edge in the draft and I'll feel really good.
