My Pops Forever RIP
In all seriousness, Peterson doesn't look like a primary option right now. His handle is weird. He's herky jerky in a way I don't think I've seen before. He finds ways to create separation and get to his spots but I don't know if it'll work against NBA level defenders on a regular basis. His playmaking needs a lot of work. So many games with one or zero assists.

He was engaged defensively today. Made a ton of plays on that end of the floor.

I wanna say he looks like a more talented Klay Thompson.

I've been wrong plenty of times but I couldn't fathom taking him over Dybantsa.
the best place for Peterson is Indiana because they wouldn't be asking him to do any saving. Accentuate the strengths and if he slacks, Carlisle will pin him to the bench next to Jarace Walker.

And?

Point is they're both very one dimensional guys who can get a bucket at any time by playing a herky jerky change of pace style. Peterson is taller but that doesn't change the fact that they're similar archetypes.

lol anyone who says and to two players being on the opposite ends of the spectrum defensively is clueless

dnp is also way better offball just clueless

and defense? i don't know how yall keep letting aj slide there.
He has the size to be a plus defender in the League. BYU was basically a two man team once Saunders went down and AJ was creating everything on offense, while playing more minutes and games than Peterson.

@Gil Scott-Heroin what's your NBA projection for Peterson?

I see a guy who will score very effectively in NBA space...but give you not much else. Just not seeing the intangibles. Type of dude who averages 25ppg+ in his prime but doesn't really elevate a team and only succeeds if he plays on an otherwise stacked team that needs a guy who can just score the hell out of the ball. Probably makes 2-3 all star teams but doesn't have a sterling career based on where he will be selected in the draft.

lot of bad defenders with great physical tools

he does play tons of minutes so why are his stocks low? its a motor/effort thing.

Who's talking about defence? I'm talking about the main reason both guys are NBA players which is elite scoring ability. Peterson brings that. But what else does he bring on the NBA level against NBA athletes?
