Michigan coach better be focused on Zona

The turnaround he's had there already is crazy though. Probably why UNC feels so confident tossing Hubey

As much as I hate scUM, it's a better job than UNC in 2026. Huge NIL budget, won't be measured against Duke every year, far less stress. Look at home many coaches turned down UK, the "best job in the country" when Cal bounced.... they whiffed on Hurley, Oats, Drew, etc. and had to settle for Mark Pope's mid ass

UNC has to nail this coaching hire so they don't slide into some kinda IU hoops territory

That Michigan State team was the last B1G team to win a natty :dwillhuh:

:mindblown:
That's my grainy footage title breh :to:

We can't all be UConn, randomly winning titles every 2 years

It's been discussed but:

05 Illinois lost to a TOUGH UNC team
09 MSU lost to 2009 UNC, arguably the GOAT CBB team
07 OSU lost to a Florida CBB dynasty
13 Mich lost to Louisville who vacated the title
Purdue lost to a crazy good 24 UConn team

The ACC titles are all Duke and UNC
SEC titles are UF and UK (only 1 for UK)
Big 12 is only Kansas (2)
Outside of UF, those are all teams that are supposed to win a title every year

College is the opposite of the pros in that nothing is a continuation.

You have to get tackled while you’re going up for a layup if for it to be a 3 point play

I get what you saying but nahhhhh. Thats still UNC.

Thats like saying Michigan State is a better job than Michigan in Football, Cal is better than USC, or Texas Tech is better than Texas.

Plus Michigan is and will always be a Football school.

I mean it is a better job, that's for sure, but it's not that attractive in 2026, I should've phrased. You used to need to be at one of 8-10 or so programs to consistently win at an elite level....now we have Bama and Auburn making Final 4s

I just don't see him leaving, unless it's for the NBA. Mich's NIL budget is top 5 or so in the sport, and UNC hasn't been willing to spend as much, they've been relying more on the "dream school" thing that doesn't matter anymore with NIL. Really, only Duke is getting guys b/c of "dream school" shyt and they're still paying a LOT in NIL

Also, Mich is still a really good program, arguably top 10 all time, it's not like he's staying at Nebraska or Ole Miss instead of UNC

Kansas, Duke, UNC, Kentucky will always be the biggest college basketball jobs
