Bassala Bagayoko and Maxime Raynaud are my project bigs this draft. One's super young and raw but with insane untapped potential. The other is older and with a deep skillset but lower ceiling and higher floor.
Violation… you know good and well most of us have no idea who these nikkas are…

(Jk, I’d rep but i gotta spread more love apparently).

@storyteller Maxime would be perfect honestly. But I’m seeing first round grades for him. Feels like that’s a no go right? I read that buying picks would trigger the second apron and signing someone to something more than a two way would eat into the little space we have left.

Kidd already coached Brunson :unimpressed:

This notion that Kidd is going to transform Brunson into a “better playmaker” or double digit dimer is nonsense and there’s nothing wrong with how JB plays PG
Agreed. Kidd, or whoever the next coach is probably utilizes Mitch lobs more though

Idk bro Kidd‘s whole style changed through his career to the point old man Kidd was a whole other player. Like I was saying during the pacers series that they needed to bring in an older PG to help Brunson comprehend managing a team in the playoffs. Kidd could do that, it’s a between the ears issue not an ability issue.

The more I think about it the more Kidd makes sense, plus he has jumped ship from bad situations before and the Mavs Lowkey need to do a rebuild around Flagg. They are just delaying the inevitable because of the Luka trade backlash.

Yeah, he's looking like a 20-30 slot selection at the moment. But older big men can slip in the draft, since even a 4 year senior will take time to adjust to the strength and speed of NBA pros. I swear it blew my mind that Colin Castleton couldn't even get second-round love, but then he took 2 and a half G-League years to break onto a pro roster.

A lot of GMs would rather roll the dice with a Hansen Yang (19-year old big from China that cooked at the Combine Scrimmages) than grab a Maxime Raynaud. This draft has a decent amount of big men who are far from sure things but could be REALLY good if they hit.

Brunson doesn’t need that.

He’s on the shortlist of game managers in the league.

Top 3 iso player, clutch player of the year, near 3:1 assist to turnover ratio, 8th in total assists.

If he were 6’6 nobody would give a shyt about his decisions even tho he’s more effective than 6’6 nikkas. It’s height bias and position purity shyt. Improve the bench, get a second guy who can dribble, and he won’t have to “hijack”. But best believe the best play when it all boils down is the ball in JB’s hands and if we ever win it’s going to come down to JB’s iso game.

Raynaud should be a top 20 pick. Absolute worst case would be slipping to #31.

This part. Get a second playmaker so JB doesn't have to do so much.

Just alleviate some of the early stress on Brunson, and let him get easier looks in the process. It's crazy how much ball denial would cause everyone but Brunson to malfunction. Plus, the handful of times NY ran decoy plays for Brunson, it was layups, dunks, and open pop outs for other guys.

I agree that he's got late-lottery written all over his tape. But I wouldn't be surprised if gm's rate him below 4-6 other Centers in this draft, which leaves room to slide after factoring team needs. I consistently see Queen, Maluach, Sorber, and Wolf stacked ahead of him at a minimum.
