You can't fix that, what you can fix is those around Brunson and KAT for fit but realistically, can you?

That is why I think one of KAT or Brunson have to go. Most teams can hide a bad defensive PG easier than a bad defensive center but both are doable. I don’t think this team can hide both. We would need a third scorer who wasn’t a defensive liability to stagger the other two with.

Damn. I know we just lost but the doom and gloom here...best season in 25 years, 2 wins away from the Finals, in the first year with two new starters and OG's first full season with the Knicks. Reading some of the posts here feels like y'all thought going to the Finals was a given lol

I guess it comes with being a Knicks fan. Every game we win some think we can win the championship, every game we lose some want to blow it up.

There's tons of thing we can clean up to go further next year. Turnovers, missed FTs, stupid fouls (LOOKING AT YOU KAT). This team is incredibly frustrating in how it finds ways to lose, but me personally I would give this group another season together. Maybe I'm too conservative, maybe it's PTSD from our dark ages.

Anyway, wild season once again. The love-hate relationship continues

Disappointed with the way this ended.

I enjoyed the season.

Happy we made it to the ECF. That Haliburton shot will be haunting.

My ultra fandom has exhausted me, can't lie. Whatever happens, I'll probably support but I hate this constant cycle of the city falls in love with the players, then they lose and become public enemies.

I wish we ran in back with the same team last year. Now that we have a year of experience, I would want to run it back.

That being said, it's been fun, TheColi.

Thibs did just fine with what he had. If fact, we overachieved. There's no bench, no playmaker, the hardest working player on the team doesn't have the talent to match, and it's always gonna be a 3 man defensive unit guarding 5 players. But we don't win many games without Hart.

No other coach is going to let Brunson play like he does....not without another ballhandler. Both OG and Mikal play more aggressive and better when Brunson wasn't on the floor. But Mikal was a solid player...albeit quiet solid performer for the squad. OG was beter early on, then up and down.

I think KAT stays. Everyone knows what he is at this point, but a defensive big...even if just a body to start along side of him...is needed. Hart is needed too, since he's the only player that really brings that toughness. We don't need OG ND Mikal though. And Mitchell, Payne, McBride will all be better somewhere else. But as it stands, I think experimenting with Mikal taking up ballhandling and distributing duties is up next. Can he do it? Maybe.

This core is a very good squad. The first very good Knick squad i can remember since the Finals run but this isn't a contender. They are in that middle between contender and pretender. Too good to be a pretender, not good enough to be a contender. They remind me of the space the Pacers was in when they had Lance Stephenson blowing on Bron and shyt. Very good squad but they need an upgrade or they will be stuck

This is a championship squad, but they weren’t going to beat OKC either way.
