I have 4 shared and downloaded plenty of paid apps with no problem or without lookout saying It wasn't a virus, I don't wanna take that risk I have too many nudes and important info in my phone for that.

You'll have to sideload them (go into Settings -> Security -> check Unknown Sources)

ok I should have asked the apk question better i have seen downloads available but i assume they are for rooted devices is that the case?

I only use maps haven't got into google music i thought it was a pay app and it required a lot of data use to play from the cloud

Apks can be installed and used on any device, rooted or unrooted (unless the app needs root priviledges) you just have to enable sideloading apps in your settings.

dont need to be rooted , its a free app and yes it will use a lot of data when your no on a wifi network
