How many of your friends have a smartphone?? I doubt your friends dont use 3rd party apps. MMS is dead because instagram, Twitter and facebook exist. Like i said imessage is a step in the right direction. Those idiots are paying carriers 20$ a month for unlimited texting. Most people have kik or whats app or Gtalk or imessage. 3rd party app is big you know.

:russ: This fool done lost his damn mind.

And you're right, the same idiots paying $20/Mo. for texting are the same ones that bytch if their "Picture Messaging" don't work... strangely enough those same idiots make up 90% of the smartphone market.

:russ: i swear he just makes shyt up as he goes

let me break it down even further since im at work.

Tablets, smart phones and computers have to talk to each other and sync across devices. Google, facebook, and Apple want a cloud system/cloud Messenger in which the user conversation is sync across all device. Why?? because they dont want you to leave their ecosystem. It makes for a better user experience and brand loyalty. My convo in GTALK, imessage and facebook messenger sync across the tablet, computer and smart phone. Try that with SMS. I wouldnt be surprise if amazion introduces a messenging client. Blackberry has new Blackberries coming out and BBM is their main selling point. The main advantage is you dont need cellular service for this to work, cloud messaging sync and the price 0$. If someone text you on your phone while you are using your tablet what would you normally do?? your answer is the reason it has to die :shaq:

The point of the matter is imessage is on the tablet and phone. People knows that they should use imessage to text. When i had the ipad 3 i was texting iphone users free of charge and i could face time them or email them with one click. How is this model not better than the sms garbage we have now

Problem is there are to many "other" options out there. Even Comcast, a cable company, has attached text messaging plans to their apps.

People aren't going to want to use 5 different(voice, kik, facebook, skype etc..) text messaging apps to communicate with people. SMS gives them one central location where they can communicate with all of their contacts and where all of their contacts can communicate with them. All these other options can't and probably won't ever give them that. Google/Apple can't force their entire userbase to use Voice or Imessage and they aren't going to work cross platform either.

In all seriousness just dead this argument, shyt isn't happening.

And the app itself is buggy. Dudes argument works against him. There's kik, ebuddy xms etc etc but you can only use them if the other person has it. Which means if I wanna talk to you and you use kik and I also wanna talk to newark, but he uses ebuddy I gotta have both apps. That's ridiculous. SMS is still the easiest way. Until Google has something universally used like imessage shyt ain't changin

Google has GTalk that runs on all their phones, it even has video chat, but nobody knows this or uses it for some reason.

They don't advertise shyt.

even if they did, it wouldn't matter. SMS is still going to hold people down since it uses the same number folks have had for years.

Ive been using android for years and still only a handful of people use gtalk. I've said on the podcast multiple times they need to integrate it better, and use it simliar to iMessage. But youre right, they dont advertise shyt...theres some people who dont even know what gtalk is :heh:

The point <-------------|

We know there are better alternatives, but the majority of smartphone users simply don't know/care. This works in the carriers' in interest since they can keep raping the masses; text messaging costs them nothing.

I'm trying to check out this youtube walkthrough on DMC 3 via the Nexus10 it's slow as hell and that's an understatement. What is this.

The netbook/ipad2/iPhone 4S neither have an issue with the Wi-Fi.
Anyone have this issue with a Nexus device.

SMS isn't going anywhere until there's one viable program that can be used across all eco-systems. No one wants to have 3-4 apps just to message everyone on their contact list.

That shyt reminds me of the days where you had to rock with Aim, MSN Messenger, and Yahoo messenger just to keep in touch with everyone.

MMS/SMS is dumb in 2013. SMS will be killed this year. Apple imessage, facebook messenger, and google future merging of messenging app will kill that garbage. Im saying MMS should work over WIFI and only data. Carriers are raping people charging for texting. I use kik for all my messenging it work just like sms and is better :win:
You don't know what you are talking about
