none of that stuff is core functionality. its not like you're saying this phone has a camera and this one doesn't. you're talking about things like keyboards. can i type on iOS yeah can i type on Android yeah so a third party keyboard meh.

sure Android is more customization but in terms of core functionality you can do the same things on both devices. it used to be that you couldn't use Google Turn-By-turn navigation on iOS but it even has that now. iOS has Google Now in the search app.

people are going to have their personal preferences but like i said you can do the same things on both devices. the methods of doing them may be different but the same core functionality is present in both. the only noticeable absence i've felt was downloading files over the air but even on Android that was something i seldom used.
Basically. This is why I never get into the whole apple vs android argument. Honestly tho I prefer android but they both serve the same purpose

Yeah, I have a N4 right now. If you already have a Nexus 4 I would not buy it because the phones are similar so it's not really an upgrade. The Nexus 4 has better specs and the MotoX has better software and it's optimized a lot more.

Motorola is now part of Google so it's a fresh start. Guess what? People said the same thing about LG when the Nexus 4 was announced and released, but that did not stop them from buying the phone.
Yeah I already have the nexus so I may just wait till the 5 comes out

no they dont....Galaxy S4 and The iphone 5 are similar now??? when you use your glass with the device. There is a big difference between android devices and ios devices...dual camera shot. zoes. photosphere...those are core functionality. An app drawer your apps is a core functionality, widgets>>>>

it is core functionality are you retarded. Just because you use your android shytty nook tablet like an ios device doesnt mean that they are no differences. How is me sharing stuff to more than twitter and facebook not a big deal. How is me setting chrome as my default or another browser not a big deal foh. can you swipe type on ios?? small ass keyboard. Can you do mobile payment?? can you do wireless charging?? the iphone is 640p screen. we are at 1080p. you can even see your notification without pressing a button. air gestures and led light>>>>

sideloading apps>>>> i just sideloaded moto x new camera

These are core functions stop the fukkery
i don't even consider that Nook to be Android. i've had every iteration of the Evo from the original 4G to the 3D to the LTE. those are all flagship Android devices. default browser? if a browser isn't my default does that mean i can't use it? swipe is core functionality? even when i could use swipe i passed on it. its just another keyboard. i don't even know what you're talking about if you're talking about mobile payments but if you're talking about that Google Wallet shyt i never even bothered setting it up and again that's not core functionality.

core functionality is
GPS
Phone calls
Web surfing
Texting
Still camera
Video camera
Downloadable applications
MP3 player
Video player

honestly all that stuff you're bragging about i either don't miss or don't care about. i don't even like iOS really but the main reason i haven't gone back to an Android phone is because i can do the same stuff on either phone so why bother dropping $500-$600 an another phone for a lateral move when i just did that last year? i mean i could sit up here and talk about how my iPhone syncs with my Fitbit flex or how it plugs into the equipment at my gym so i can navigate it without having to hold the device or how it syncs with the Nike + sensor in my shoes but none of that stuff is core functionality or even important to the majority of users.

i'm not anti-android or pro iOS i just call it like i see it and there's nothing major you can do on one device you can't do on the other.

so youre saying that every smartphone are on the same level since they do the basic things??? do you know what the point of apps are?? the way google now works on ios is way different than it work on android first off. I can change my launcher if i want to ios 7 launcher and install the ios 7 control center. Can you do that on ios?? thats what differentiate products not gps and calls wtf. galaxy phones are outselling iphones 2 to 1 because of the samsung so call gimmicks. if all we cared about was the basics who would all still be using blackberries

the stans don't wanna admit it. i was a hardcore Android guy and last year when the iPhone 5 came out i was just curious so i bought one off somebody for like $600 just to play around with it cause i used my upgrade on the EVO LTE a few months before then. initially i desperately wanted to go back to Android but i stuck with it and eventually i came to realize they're both the same from a core functionality standpoint. I like many users have settled into a usage pattern of things i use daily and its about the same as it was on Android.

all the window dressings of Android don't distract me. they way you do things may be different from one device to the next but they can both do the same major things. cell phones have reached a point where the upgrades are more and more diminishing returns. once you settle into a usage pattern even with iOS being as restrictive as it is and all the customization Android offers you're likely to not even notice. i know i sure don't.

you're probably just used to iOS. don't let these people fool you. there isn't really much you can do on an Android device that you can't do an an iPhone and vice versa. these phones run the same apps by the same developers and many of them are designed the same way. iOS isn't really simpler than Android. You can lay out icons on an Android home screen just like iOS and use it that way.
Android is much more open than iOS.

I view any android device as a full computer in my pocket. On the iPhone it is not possible because you need either some workaround or an "app" to fix the limits one might have.

You cannot unrar files on the iPhone like you do on Android and then do whatever you want with it.

I don't care if you don't consider that a core feature, it SHOULD be...you are a tech nerd like all of us in here and you should not be ok with limits.

are you then saying i can't copy paste that address or phone number? is it an extra step yes does it take long? no. is it that i can't make a phone call on an iOS device or use GPS on it? no.
again you aren't saying anything i'm not. they way you do things may be different one one device vs the other but they can do the same things ultimatly

you don't need iTunes on an iPhone either. you can use other programs like mediamonkey if you choose

as for NFC they're talking about adding it to the 5S and i don't even want it. i had it on the EVO LTE and now my Nexus 7 and i don't have any other devices that i've ever used it with or needed it for.

until ios can do this. good night

when was the last time you used any of those features in your house? fukk i look like standing at the door waiting for a phone to lock it. in the time it takes him to do that i could have physically locked it and walked off. same with the TV. this dude standing around talking about its encrypted so sometimes it can take a while but really if it takes longer to use the phone just do it yourself. to me all that stuff is as silly as Siri on the iPhone a feature i haven't used since Oct 2012. i played around with it a few days and never touched it again.

i know you are. you gave it your best shot really but still couldn't disprove the point that in terms of core functionality these devices do mostly the same things even if they use different ways to do them and there isn't much you can do on one you can't do on the other outside customization.

bro there is a big ass difference. I can download a zip file album and open it then listen to it on my phone without an app. In Gmail i can long press on an address and pull up maps and navigation. I can long press a number anywhere and save it or dial it. FOH with that crippled shyt called ios. U cant even change your home screen. Widgets calendar on my home screen along with a clock and power controls. Have fun with your outdated device. samsung killed it the end

Emoji keyboard for non nexus devices and galaxy nexus devices that dont have the emoji keyboard built in

Wnn Keyboard Lab - Android Apps on Google Play

How to enable Emoji on the stock Google keyboard. I keep seeing people having trouble getting emojis.

Step 1
Make sure you have the Google keyboard installed. If not go to the play store to download.

Step 2

Go to your phone settings then language and inputs. Scroll down and check the emoji input box. Its the last keyboard on the list. Then go back up Google keyboard and click the settings. It's the icon to the far right. Then scroll Down to advanced settings then click the other input method. Emoji will now be the globe ball on the keyboard by the mic icon.

i conceded that but again how often are you put into the situation where an album leaks and you really gotta download it that moment on your phone?
In Gmail i can long press on an address and pull up maps and navigation.
i can copy paste that address in Google maps. takes less than 10 seconds and the result is the same the address is in there and i'm viewing it same as you.
I can long press a number anywhere and save it or dial it.
that's doable in iOS and even it it wasn't copy paste takes 10 seconds
U cant even change your home screen. Widgets calendar on my home screen along with a clock and power controls.
lock screen and homescreen wallpaper are customizable but that doesn't really matter. widgets are nice but seeing as how it takes a few seconds to open the app they aren't necessary or needed. i've jailbroken and have controls in my notification pull down bar.
Have fun with your outdated device. samsung killed it the end
iPhone 5 still tops, but Galaxy S4 helps Samsung gain share, analyst says | Apple - CNET News
no they didn't

the difference between me and you is what i'm saying are facts. you're talking opinions. opinions and preferences are nice but they don't refute facts. the facts are the majority of what you can do on one device you can do on the other even if you have to go about it a different way you can still reach the same end result.
