Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) is prepping the Nexus 6 smartphone, which will be launched in the second half of 2014. It’s the only confirmed tidbits about the upcoming smartphone of the Nexus lineup.

After the annual Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, there’ve been rumors for months about the phone’s tech specs and characteristics, especially the manufacturer. According to recent developments, Google has chosen neither Lenovo nor LG, but HTC Corporation for the Nexus 6 development.

If it happens, things will be back to the roots. The Taiwanese manufacturer formed the first ever Android smartphone in 2008, dubbed as HTC Dream (also known as T-Mobile G1 in the U.S.), and the Nexus One in 2010. Afterwards, Google and Samsung tied knot to produce the Nexus S and the Galaxy Nexus. The change came again in 2012, when the Nexus 4 was announced by LG, followed by the Nexus 5 in 2013.

Last month, the rumor mill churned out that the Nexus 6 was supposed to be a lighter version of the LG G3, but things doesn’t seem inline as Google has chosen HTC for the Nexus 6, according to reports.

Now, it seems obvious that the successor of Nexus 5 will be derived from the HTC One (M8), which is already available in the market and heading to Google Play soon. Rumors says, Google Nexus 6 will sport a bigger display, probably around 5.5 inches, along with a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 or 3 GB RAM and 16 GB / 32 GB of internal memory.

Maybe Google likes the HTC One (M8) design language and characteristics, especially the metal shell. The Nexus 6 will run Android 4.5 or Licorice Lollipop and arrive sometime in October 2014 to compete directly with the Apple iPhone 6.bIt’s a fascinating conception, but take it with a grain of salt. We’ll peeling for more information on any Nexus 6 news.

:noah:

Sounds too good to be true , but I'd cop first second (rather than first day like usual :russ:) If the next Nexus had HTC's design language. Things like Licorice Lollipop makes this feel like a fake article though...

Never really excited me until I read this

Users of an Ara phone will be able to power their device with one or multiple batteries; they will be able to swap a depleted battery with a fresh one, without powering off their phone; they will be able to charge one or more batteries in their phone from one or multiple charging devices.
