Don't expect the average person to understand this. They don't get the idea of people collaborating to make a great album. Big rappers might hear someone else's shyt and think "damn this track would be dope as fukk for my album". So they take the reference track, re-do it and put it on there.

All that said, I think MAINSTREAM rappers these days would benefit A LOT from having writers. And Im sure a lot of them do. But I dont think it's something to be ashamed of. I dont fukk with Cotton Candi Papi at all, but rap is the only genre where writing your own shyt is such a big deal. Who cares. ITs not like these radio nikkas are heralded as great lyricists or emcees in the first place. Id rather a nikka have tightened bars w/help than the garbage that passes for radio rap these days.

All I know is: everytime I hear a song on the radio that DOESN'T make me wanna earl, I ask "who is this?" and it's always Drake. Over the years I just have to admit I like Drake.

I literally don't know what Meek Mill sounds like. I am sure I have heard it somewhere in passing but I have no desire to find out about him.

That's the difference I am concerned about. If this was backinnaday and it was Ra vs Kane and we found out one didn't write then that would matter. Now it's listenable vs *vomit* and I vote for listenable.
