Question for the populace: when did y'all fall in love with the show and why?

I ask cuz I'm seeing all these "idc about Cersei/the iron throne" posts. I fell in love with the show mid-season 1, and it was primarily due to the treachery surrounding King's Landing. The White Walkers were an afterthought at that point. The iron throne being the end game for the show called Game of Thrones makes perfect sense to me. The Night King may have been the bigger threat to the realm, but the throne is the bigger piece to this story.

The show started off with zombies (I remember being confused when I started watching). Also the tag line has been “winter is coming” forever. Do you see why this is confusing?

And this is coming from someone who enjoys the political stuff as well.

Y'all capers better keep that same energy if something happens to Arya in these next three episodes :eumad1:

That’s what I’m saying. I been seeing this shirt make the rounds:

And my reaction is “Arya gone die in two episodes and render all this merch worthless”

Ppl got mad when I said that too. :lolbron:

I am holding out hope for something a bit "out there" because of the fact that Martin said the showrunners won't drift far from his own ending. Martin don't do cliche endings.. So we'll see..

If I'm wrong on that then fukk this show :manny:
I think we might be putting too much hope into George’s bowling ball ass...he can’t even figure out how to sketch this ending. I doubt they’ll be able to

They should use the shattered ice from his body for their victory drinks. U can tell there are no black writers on this show cause that's what I would have made em do
Damn it breh now all i want next episode is hound tormund and tyrion bellyin up around the dragon filling their cups with dragon ice and wine.

Thats a snl sketch in the making.

Loved the characters. Initially it was because of Ned Stark because he reminds me of my pops. The quiet honourable family man. I thought I’d be done after s1 but felt almost out of some obligation or duty to keep up with my adopted StarkSet fam :wow: Prime Tyrion and LF in the early seasons were also quite compelling and entertaining. Later on it was Olenna because she reminds me of my grandma. Same personality/archetype.

The way GRRM designed the noble houses and their vassal houses with distinct characteristics, values and words was genius. Once you identify with a house or member from a house you’re invested. With so many plotlines early on watching just to keep up with who you care for would’ve kept a lot of people going. To keep it 100, I couldn’t care less for early season Dany, but I watched because of Jorah. However, what I remember especially in the early seasons was looking forward to when the show would go back to an arc that I cared about.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
It feels like fan fiction at this point.

I'm looking more forward to the possibility of Dany going insane, something they've been building up to for a while now. If they don't go anywhere with that, I will be very disappointed.
It’s funny. I didn’t want to guess, but all my predictions have been grounded in “this will be predictable as fukk”
I'm glad Breaking Bad kept that same energy all throughout its run. There were times (especially before S5 Part 1) where I was nervous of a potential dip in quality. That and the mainstream appeal after being put on Netflix had a nikka like :lupe: All these new nikkas knowing my weekly AMC fix now. :lupe:

But Gilligan did what Gilligan does :wow:
Is BB the only series to do this?? Stick the landing... For all the praise the wire, sopranos, got gets... Hell even seinfeld... They always fukk up the ending.. always... which ruins the entire series for me. When you get to the last few seasons or eps and it's just complete shyt... Why even watch the series anymore

GOT bout to commit fumble on the goal line... Lord of light, please don't let this happen :blessed:

Hope GOT doesn’t fumble the ending like LOST did. People may kill themselves

Yea, I don't have a problem with people being disappointed by how the White Walker subplot played out (tho, as always some are OD'ing) that question was posed cuz many people are claiming they don't care about the Throne and all they ever cared about was the Night King. If you never cared about the Throne how the hell did this show keep your interest the first four seasons or so?

Now, all of a sudden, no one cares about breaking the wheel. shyts wild to me. :mindblown:
Nobody cares because this is turning into the classic predictable story... Now maybe they got a haymaker in there for the throne... But we pretty much know it's either Jon or Danny right? Nobody believes they'll let Cersei win? Nobody believes someone other than those two are taking the throne right?

So for most people, we already have our minds made up... I called it two weeks ago... battle, end of NK in ep 3... ep 4 is the aftermath/planning... ep 5. is another battle... ep 6... aftermath/conclusion

Nobody wants to watch a show like THIS, end up with everyone guessing the predictable ending, 2 seasons ago.. That's why you get all these retarded theories... Cause people just BEGGING for that left field, game of thrones death, that has the whole world on edge..

And no... This wasn't it. Ayra was the shock, but most people knew they wasnt about to have two snow battles... NK death was known before the season started.. That's not thrones style

As sketchy as The Wire S5 could be at times, I thought the ending was perfect. Sopranos ending was foreshadowed all throughout the series, Chase did wonders with it. While ambigious, if you revisited scenes from a while back, it's kinda obvious what happened.
