UN nuclear watchdog chief is not sure where Iran has stashed its stockpile of enriched uranium

Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), was unable to confirm the whereabouts of Iran’s stockpile of near-weapons-grade nuclear material, urging that inspectors be allowed to return safely to the country “to assess the situation.”

In an interview with CNN on Sunday, Grossi said that Iran has stored around 400 kilograms (880 lbs) of uranium enriched to 60%, not far from the 90% enrichment required to make a nuclear weapon.
“Iran has made no secret that they have protected this material,” Grossi said.

Speaking to board of governors of the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog on Monday, Grossi said that inspectors must be able “to go back to Iran’s nuclear sites and account for the stockpiles of uranium, including, most importantly, the 400 kilograms enriched to 60%.”

IAEA inspectors last saw the stockpile on June 10, Grossi told CNN, just three days before Israel struck Iran, mostly targeting the country’s nuclear facilities at Isfahan and Natanz. The United States joined Israel’s attacks on Sunday, striking those two sites as well as the Fordow enrichment plant, which is buried deep in a mountain.

In his statement to the IAEA board, Grossi said that Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told him on June 13 — shortly after Israel’s initial attack — that Iran will “adopt special measures to protect our nuclear equipment and materials.”

Grossi said he had stressed to Araghchi that Iran must declare to the IAEA where it is transferring any nuclear material.

Grossi also called for an end to the fighting so that “Iran can let IAEA teams into the sites to assess the situation.”

Grossi’s been helping Israel assassinate Iranian nuclear scientists.

i wonder if @Sccit knows about how those europeans starved the people he self-identifies as to expel them from white communities, just like how they starve palestinians to expel them from "eretz yisrael..."

...or about how they kept mizrahim in concentration camps, dismantled the camps only when they'd have to admit whites to them, then tried to memory hole it all...

...and before he responds with his stock "FAKE NEWS!!! :sadbron:" that study's by a jewish israeli history professor at tel aviv university :childplease:

No reason to criticize Israeli or US attacks on Iran, German leader says

No reason to criticize Israeli or US attacks on Iran, German leader says

"There is no reason for us, or for me personally, to criticize what Israel started a week ago, nor is there any reason to criticize what America did last weekend," German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Monday.

Speaking at a BDI event, he acknowledged the operations carried risks but argued that “leaving it as it was wasn’t an option either.”

“The evidence that Iran is continuing on its path to building a nuclear weapon can no longer be seriously disputed.”

You know what having a “good meeting” means when a nation is undergoing direct conflict.

Yeah, at this point there’s no staying if you’re a citizen of either country. It’s beyond the point of nuclear facilities. Life will never be the same for those in Israel and Iran.

UK to ban campaign group Palestine Action under anti-terrorism laws

LONDON, June 23 (Reuters) - Britain said on Monday it would use anti-terrorism laws to ban the campaign organisation Palestine Action, making it a criminal offence to belong to the group after its activists damaged two UK military planes in protest at London's support for Israel.
The proscription would put the pro-Palestinian group on a par with Hamas, al-Qaeda or ISIS under British law, making it illegal for anyone to promote it or be a member. Those who breached the ban could face up to 14 years in jail.

Palestine Action has regularly targeted British sites connected to Israeli defence firm Elbit Systems as well as other companies in Britain linked to Israel since the start of the conflict in Gaza in 2023.

Questions swirl in DC after US attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities

Reporting from the White House, Washington, DC, US
Broader Washington is asking questions, given that most of the consensus is that the satellite imagery of the damage from the US strikes has been inconclusive.
The US president is set to hold a national security briefing with his security team at 17:00 GMT.
We know that there are a number of issues that are troubling the White House.
There is a question about where the enriched uranium that was stored at Fordow has moved to, given the fact that there are wide reports that that was what happened prior to the US strikes.
Also, there is another about what Iran’s response or retaliation looks like. Could it be targeting the bases in the Middle East? And the 40,000 US soldiers that are stationed there, as well as their families and American citizens, who have been given a high alert warning to be vigilant?
And there has also been a heightened alert here in the United States, as well as extra vigilance with regard to cybersecurity as well as infrastructure.
