GOP congressman defends president not notifying Congress before Iran strikes

From CNN's Sarah Davis
GOP Rep. Ronny Jackson commended President Donald Trump on his decision to omit notifying top congressional Democrats from the US’ strike plans on Iran.

“We do not have trustworthy people in Congress, especially on the left side of the aisle,” the Texas congressman claimed, without evidence, on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.”

“Our operational security is reliant on the secrecy that surrounds it, and that’s what happened and the president had no obligation to inform Congress beforehand anyways, and I’m glad he did not,” Jackson added.

Some context: Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune were looped into the plans ahead of the strikes, while House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer were notified only after the strikes and right before the public announcement.

Wtf is the point of having a government then?

‘Pain for pain’: Iran seeks to impose a deterrence

Reporting from Tehran, Iran

Tehran has not issued a clear line regarding a warning or threat, nor has it outlined the next steps.

This is because the decision-maker will be the Supreme National Security Council, and it’s clear that making a decision is a very complicated process.

On one hand, Iran wants to retaliate, and on the other, it seeks to maintain a certain distance from the US.

We must remember that Israel and Iran are both regional powers, while the US is a superpower with nuclear facilities and nuclear bombs.

Iran is trying to impose a kind of deterrence, a balance of pain for pain, by daily launches, and we are seeing the Iranian rockets hitting bases in different Israeli cities.

The Iranian president spoke about how the Israelis dragged the US into this war, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that all the US bases are under observation, but neither gave a clear line on what the next step will be.

That is up to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, which will need to convene to make a decision.
:unimpressed: More saber rattling. Do something or sit down and take your L, Iran.

The talk about Israeli intelligence is also funny to me.

Academically on Reading/Math/Science scores they are nearly the EXACT same as Hispanic Americans on average.

Bet folks didn’t know that. Look at international scores, they’re usually around #40. Cats be living off of Einstein, Feynman and a handful of scientists reputation from the mid 1900’s.

Academic Performance of Israeli Students in International Context

International Test Scores:

Israeli students consistently score below the OECD average in mathematics and science, and close to the average in reading, according to the latest PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) results68. In the 2022 PISA study, Israeli 15-year-olds scored 458 in mathematics, 465 in science, and 474 in reading. These results place Israel below the OECD average in math and science, and near the average in reading68.

Comparisons to Other Groups:

While the search results do not provide a direct comparison between Israeli students and Hispanic Americans, your assertion that Israel ranks around #40 globally in these academic areas is broadly consistent with the data. Israel's international ranking in PISA often falls in the 30s to 40s, depending on the subject and year68. The scores are not far off from those of several Latin American countries and some U.S. demographic groups, including Hispanic Americans, who also tend to score below the U.S. national average in PISA and NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) assessments.

Educational Inequality:

Israel's education system is characterized by significant achievement gaps, particularly between Jewish and Arab students, and between students from different socioeconomic backgrounds2357. While there have been improvements and some narrowing of gaps, Israel remains among the OECD countries with the highest educational inequality357.

Reputation vs. Reality:

Israel's reputation for intelligence and innovation is often linked to its achievements in technology, science, and its history of producing notable scientists. However, current average academic performance among school-aged students does not place Israel among the global leaders in standardized test scores68. The country's international standing in education is more modest than its high-tech reputation might suggest.

Summary Table: Israel vs. OECD Average (PISA 2022)

SubjectIsrael ScoreOECD AverageRelative Standing
Mathematics458472Below OECD average
Science465485Below OECD average
Reading474476Near OECD average

Conclusion:

The perception of Israeli intelligence based on past scientific achievements does not fully align with the current average academic performance of Israeli students, which is modest by international standards and similar to some other middle-ranked countries. The country's educational outcomes show room for improvement, especially in narrowing achievement gaps and raising overall scores2568.

Democrats might be able to salvage this but they have to muster up a joint effort with some rogue Republicans to impeach Trump as soon as possible.
The republicans arent impeaching shyt. The whole party has gone rogue and won’t do shyt to TrumpZ
Reminds you of Russia doesn't it? It's almost hilarious how we can make fun of Putin for biting off more than he can chew and lying about it in Ukraine ; then turn around and imitate him 2 years later :snoop:
blame Trump voters….. they don’t understand irony

In 2006, more than 3,000 start-ups were created in Israel, a number that is only second to the U.S.[21] Newsweek Magazine has also named Tel Aviv as one of the world's top ten "Hot High-Tech Cities".[22] In 1998, Tel Aviv was named by Newsweek as one of the ten technologically most influential cities in the world.[23] In 2012, the city was also named one of the best places for high-tech startup companies, placed only second behind its California counterpart.[24][25]

You can hate them, believe the US spends to much money with them, but I would suggest not to underestimate them. There is a reason a country the size of New Jersey has the region in a chokehold and it’s not just because the US shows them special preference.

It’s like that old joke about outrunning a bear. They don’t got to be the smartest, just smarter than whoever they are doing dirty….. see Biden and Trump. See the Arab countries around them.

They always try to find dumb people to exploit but if you can corner them they look foolish. They also benefit from having a culture where they work together as a “nation” and have free rein to fukk over everybody else. So the dumb ones stay close to home and the smarter ones go and exploit everybody outside the “nation” but the typical Jew isn’t smart, they just stay out of sight if they are dumb. Meanwhile the smartest Jews got promoted and celebrated as a way to make it seem that they are the norm. It’s kind of like how the media highlights or athletes and criminals the most and everyone else thinks we are superhumans prone to crime.
