Trump communicated directly with Netanyahu to secure ceasefire: Report
US President Donald Trump communicated directly with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to secure the ceasefire, according to the Associated Press citing an unnamed senior White House official.
The report said that Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff communicated with Iranians through direct and indirect channels.
The White House has maintained that the Saturday bombing by the US on Iranian nuclear sites helped get Israel to agree to the ceasefire, and that the Qatari government helped to broker the deal.

The Israeli military said it has identified missiles launched toward Israel from Iran, and said its defensive systems were activated.
“A short while ago, sirens sounded in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward the State of Israel,” the Israel Defense Forces said.
“At this time, the IAF (Israeli Air Force) is operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat.”
The alert comes after Iran’s Foreign Minister hinted hostilities may have ended, and that Iran would halt its military response if Israel stopped its strikes on Iran by 4 a.m. local time in Tehran.
It is now shortly before 6 a.m in Iran.

Israel says new Iranian missile attack under way
The Israeli military says Iran has launched a new wave of missiles toward the country and urged the public to take shelter.
It said air raid sirens have been activated in several areas of the country.
The new announcement comes moments after the military told the public that an earlier strike had ended and that it was now safe to leave bomb shelters.

First Iranian missile fired towards Israel since Trump ceasefire announcement
Reporting from Amman, Jordan
Al Jazeera is reporting from Jordan because it has been banned from Israel and the occupied West Bank.
This would be something like the 25th missile attack the Iranians have launched, and actually the first since the announcement of that ceasefire agreement by US President Donald Trump.
The Iranian foreign minister had come out and said that Iran didn’t agree to anything but if the Israelis wanted to stop their aggression, Iran would stop firing as well.
So these missiles are continuing to get fired and the Israelis say they are going to keep pounding targets inside of Iranian territory.
Israeli officials speaking anonymously to Israeli media have also said that there are still a wide range of targets that Israel wants to strike inside Iran and that they are not finished with their goals.
But the main objective for them at this point has been achieved. Of depleting those nuclear capabilities. But when it comes to the missile fire that is still going to head toward Israel, well, it seems that is still in session.
