Tank telegraphed this move for months
Gotta feel sorry for roach here. Robbed of a knockdown, probably robbed of a major upset win, and then robbed of the rematch :francis:
Sad what Tank has become. With Turki out there he could have got top dollar for fighting the bouts we all wanted, but he took the easy way out for a bag. shyt won’t even count for anything, literally a fake ass fight in his prime at age 30 when tank should be having legacy defining fights

I think the thing is Tank is your boxers fav boxer damn near lol Canelo and Monster sing his praises, as if he is from their cloth and he pretty much said fukk everyone. If we being real the way Canelo had that Undisputed Run, Tank could have had a 1-2 yr run that solidified him and then still be in position for this lol

I don't care what anyone says

People can frame it as "Oh Tank just lost his passion". What really happened was that the Lamont Roach fight spooked him. To get a "Draw" (which was really a clear loss on his record) against Roach made him scared that his money train with Boxing could come to an end. It was almost like the Wizard of Oz moment when you saw the Wizard behind the curtain. Roach exposed all of Tank's flaws in the ring, and gave everyone game tape on how to attack him

Can you imagine if he lost twice in a row against Roach in a rematch against a guy who he was HIGHLY favored to win against? All that future money potential goes down the drain. This is the main reason why he ducked the rematch and now going full throttle into being a non-serious Youtube Boxer

This would be accurate if Tank literally didn’t plan on calling out Jake Paul in the post fight interview of the Lamont Roach fight.

Unfortunately, fighting Jake Paul was always the plan.

You're not saying anything new or profound. The rumor that he was fighting Jake Paul after the Roach fight was already alive before the bell rang

Nothing you said negates anything I said in my post :mjlol:

How do yall sustain being boxing fans? All yall do is bytch about who fights who, when they fight them, what was their weight, was it on a full moon during a solstice?

Like God damn
In most other sports the best vs best kind of matchups happen at least annually or more often. Boxing is different for multiple reasons but one of these is the blatant disrespect of the sport’s fans with fights like this and a lot of other shaenigans.

Idk what sports do you watch but imagine something like Barcelona announcing they won’t play Real Madrid because they rather play against a Youtubers all stars or Alcaraz announcing he’s not going to enter a Grand Slam because he must concentrate on a match against an Instagram intluencer. :mjlol:

Boxing is always on the verge of going too far in the “entertainment” territory and shyt like this happens when that goes overboard.

“But he gets paid”
Good for him but we don’t have to shut the criticism because he gets paid. He knew that a lot of ppl would be pissed about this especially given how his last fight went and he still took it, it’s on him.

From a fan standpoint this sucks and the fans have their own “interest”, expecting good, competitive fights from these guys who we invested a lot of time in and lot of ppl money too like PPVs and etc. It’s natural to be pissed when in return you get a mindset of unashamed greed.

Using another sport as an example again, it’s completely normal to shyt on talented football players in their prime years who sign to the Saudi league instead of a big European one. Nobody cares that they “get paid”, it’s a career suicide and it gets disrespected a lot.

Realistically in both cases (Tank now and a football player signing to Saudi) the “option B” that’s not a career suicide would still mean astronomic amounts of money, so the choice is not between living like a bum and living like a king.

Tank has been this way for literally nearly 10 years. Dude was shook to death to even whisper Lomachenkos name up until last year. Dude has literally never cared about "legacy" (which there's nothing wrong with tbh); but it's the reason he shouldn't be on the p4p list or go to hof if he retires after this.

He's made it clear with his actions that he doesn't care about legacy. He's not trying to be great. He just wants the money and to keep his fanfare.

I've already said about 2 fights ago, he's basically Jake Paul status .... and that his fans are fools if they think at this point in his career he's suddenly going to start taking on elite opponents. After avoiding them all through his 20s.

And now look where we are. He actually IS fighting Jake Paul himself. Likely retiring afterwards. You can't make the shyt up.

How does this even get sanctioned?
It's a exhibition, not a real fight.
which makes it even worse imo, since now it can literally be WWE status with a predetermined outcome and it would be nothing wrong with that since it's not a real fight. They don't have to wear the same size gloves or none of that (saw someone say Tank could make JP wear 16oz sparring gloves while tank wear 8oz or whatever if he wanted, etc)

Paulie Mal bought up the fact that Jake Paul v Tyson was an exhibition at first too until they realized all the gambling money that would be left on the table and got it sanctioned somehow. I'm not sure if that's even possible here given the size difference
