OK I need some Llloyd Bank$ stans to assist me here:

My conception was lloyd banks was a fabolousesque mixtape rapper... meaning definitely technically skilled, witty punchlines, able to make a hit record every couple years, but ultimately nothing to talk about outside of bragging on his guns, girls, and money. Basically skilled but generic and sticking to the mainstream/mixtape formula.

This FNO mixtape kinda flys in the face of that conception. He got really strong production on this joint without chasing anyone else sound. He got good songwriting without aiming to make anything other than a rap songs, it aint like ohh here is a mixtape song, here is a cross over song, here is a radio song, here is an r&b song... just like here is some east coast style lyrical street edged rap fukk with it or dont. He talks about many different topics from non standard angles, not like he is going out his way to be deep, just like he is naturally having a conversation. Like everyone is trying to bring NYC back, but half their album or singles gonna be trap or whatever is hot right now. right now would say this is the most consistent project i have heard in the last few months, and i dont even like dude like that...

So question is, is this mixtape unsual for banks... or has he been releasing stuff like this for a while and i just aint aknowledge cause i thought he was a standard generic mixtape rapper

He was always capable of putting out quality music but 50 was holding him back. This kind of output from him doesn't surprise me at all.

The game he spit between Keep Up and Tour Stories is :whoo:

she on that pill, i'm on that pink
her legs on my shoulders, her ass on my sink
her phone ringin, she ain't even blink
shyt kept rinigng, wonder what he must think
i ain't got the time baby don't quit him
pillow on the face, I don't pillow talk wid em
I bag em up, rag em then forget em
knock some years off em, let you nikkas baby sit em

I know some of you nikkas felt some typa way when you heard that one :damn:

Not really. I only feel strongly towards money and blood. After years of self reflection, I realized I was born this way.

Once that AIDS vaccine becomes available, I wouldn't care if she is faithful. Because at that point I won't be so picky.

Might check this out, listening to some '06 Uncle Murda as of now. :whoo:

I'm happy to see the response this tape has got :wow:
I hope he smart and starts doing videos for this. This shyt has legs to turn into something bigger then a mixtape. Banks might fukk around and put himself back into the mainstream with songs like Tour Stories.

"This is game, this how you play
This how you catch a bytch man. You know you nikkas don't know, ey you heard of ABC's? It's ABP's : Always Be Playing, always! You never just say something out yo mouth man! Especially when someone can hear it, it has to have intention."

Just another example of why Banks has been the best rapper alive the past 4-5 years. NOBODY can match his consistency and quality. I hope he's getting paid for these mixtapes because they're all album quality. :wow:
