Serious question (don't feel like going through 35 pages). When it says no drinking I'm thinking alcohol or even juices but does the no drink policy include even water? How does one even attempt to pull that off during Ramadan living in a desert climate? Much less a decent weather country like here.

Nothing is allowed to go down ur throat (nh) from sunset to sundown. That includes all liquids.
Its will power combined with persistance and a matter of getting used to it.

No drinking anything in daylight hours. No water, coffee, juice, etc. It's difficult but if your determined to do it it can be done. I can't imagine how they do it in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, etc. For me personally it really disciplines me. If I can go a month without drinking anything or eating anything in daylight hours for a month then I can do anything.

Wow, that's actually amazing. I was raised Catholic (ended being religious in my early teens but that's another story) and during lent you were allowed anything except red meat and even then you could have it on Fridays. I don't know how the human body would be able to continue in a harsh climate while only consuming during sundown times. I guess extremely high calorie high volume foods and a ton of water then just ride out the string, personally I would be miserable for the entire month. Kudos to those in here who celebrate Islam and are able to truly do this

I seriously don't know why people who don't agree with the thread premise come in to talk trash. If you dislike Islam that's cool do you but why come in to disrupt the peaceful environment? In the years I lurked here and in the months since I've been posting this has been the most peaceful thread I've seen.

Nobody is forcing you to open the thread.

How's everyone finding Ramadan at this point?

It's getting a little easier. My appetite has definitely adjusted. I've lost no weight, which is good. I'm managing to get 2L of water in every day. Exercising on alternate days.

My mind feels clearer.

Not bad actually.

logic suggests that we would be completely miserable this month

but this is by far the happiest month of the year for me and other muslims :blessed:

dont underestimate the power of will and our body, we are capable of great things :blessed:

yep, one mentally ill scumbag always has to go and do something stupid to try and tarnish our name :francis:

but imma ignore the islamaphobes, they'll find any excuse to hate all of us, even though they know 99% of us are peaceful and just trying to live our lives :francis:
