This will be my first Ramadan and I am so excited! I eotk in office full of free snacks and catered lunches...will be hard, but trusting God in those difficult moments. Probably wont go to my megaformer and cardio sessions. I get VERY hungry afterwards. Its not dark til about 8PM here in Chicago now except for the rainy days...

Best of luck sister, it’s my first Ramadan too

The attempt alone makes you a better person than you were before :blessed:

One thing you realize during this month is that you really do not need to eat as much food as you think in order to function. It kinda recalibrates your relationship with food :wow:

You also appreciate the little things in life, the basic necessities we take for granted.

May God make it easy for you and all of us and guide us all to the straight path, Amen :wow:

May Allah bless you all

Remember a few sips of water of iftar and then you drink properly and periodically through the rest of the night.

If you start guzzling water quick issa rap for the rest of the night :wow:

Also giving a little money during the final ten days is huge as money donated in yomul qiyaama is intensified. :blessed:

@Iceson Beckford are you a revert brother?

Also do you have ppl you're breaking fast with

Ramadan Kareem Brother, I am indeed a revert

At the moment I’m breaking fast by myself but will most likely go Masjid next week

Been a great week nonetheless, hope you and yours are blessed and healthy

That doesn't last for long. That we eat out of boredom or confuse thirst with hunger, is a blessed enlightenment but in my experience it settles itself in the back of the mind. Unless of course you're about that ascetic lifestyle.

:ohhh:

I was struggling w Suhoor but this is a clutch post breh

Anyone got any tips for Iftaar? :wow:

Try to break your fast with some dates, if possible. Your insulin levels drop throughout the day and dates will give you the immediate spike that you need. Not to mention, it’s sunnah.

Usually, I’ll eat some dates and drink water and then go pray Maghrib, and then come back and eat my actual dinner. When I do, I find that I eat a lot less and feel a lot better than if I just ate all my dinner for iftar.

Damn, today's fast was the hardest. The last 3 hours or so were a real struggle. I don't eat enough for suhoor or I completely miss it since I don't feel hungry around 2am since I've been eating throughout the night. Last night I went from 11pm to 9pm without eating at all but alhamdulillah I pulled through. I gotta eat smarter throughout the night :wow:
