To be clear, I don't think they shouldn't be tried, I just think there will be a legal argument to be made in the next few years, or sooner. This is a different form of idealogical terrorism. Religious based terrorism, is ostensibly rooted in an extremist reading of texts, religious ones. This breed is nearly entirely self radicalizing from various sources, that are increasingly mainstream views.

I hate the US judicial system. Nothing against you personally. If I'm reading this right, you're saying they need have a conversation that might hopefully lead to action of passing laws that specifically deal with domestic terrorism?

When Timothy McVeigh was arrested and tried as a terrorist, what laws did they have then? I'm sure they can apply some of those laws to these people.
