It’s crazy to think that the greatest military in history is improvising a war in the Middle East. Just think of all the money invested in training, preparation, funding of military institutions of higher learning etc, all to improvise a fukking war in the Middle East in the year of our lord 2026.

I was a kid during the first Iraq war, but, I can clearly remember watching the news stories of the meticulous planning led by Colin Powell. Even the second Iraq war, which was a huge step down from the professionalism of the first had months of planning ahead of the conflict.

I suppose the military is mirroring the lack of professionalism, ethics, seriousness and competence that we are witnessing in other areas of society. Whether it be the rise of conmen in tech like Elon Musk, politics with Trump, or the gutting of traditional media institutions like 60 Minutes.

I forgot where I read it earlier but essentially the 12 day war spooked israel, they realized then that the iranians was a more equipped military than them which is why they dragged the US into this war. The Iranians settled for diplomacy but they could have leveled israel during that war if they wanted too. The united states wasn't in position to help israel either who was running out of defense ammo

There are multiple bases in Kuwait. I've worked with the Kuwaiti military pre and post-US military training, shear incompetence and fear of targeting and shooting down a craft in their airspace is not a large logical leap.
