This has nothing to do with the season. This is collective bargaining.
Does she still make this same statement if they won?

Even if it's true, don't wait until you on the losing end of a situation to wanna stand on morals, if they won she would've waited until the season was over.

Is it really hard to imagine athletes who have a hard time losing will immediately move goalposts to protect their egos in a loss? Again she is right but two things can be true at the same time, this was 50% of her coping with losing.

Of course she does, she's one of the leaders of the players union and she's one of the co-creators of Unrivaled. She was gonna make this statement whenever Lynx exit interviews happened. This is just common sense given the players' leverage.

Do you really think Cathy is gonna mention the Lynx loss in her response? No, because she's not a fukking moron.

Phee probably planned this statement for months, just like the t-shirts and Unrivaled rollout during ASW. It's very carefully worded to attract the attention of not just Cathy, but the most hard-core fanbases of Angel, Caitlin, and A'ja. The lockout is coming.
