I called it over three weeks ago. Atlanta's coach was a mid major college coach one trick pony whose teams just spammed threes.
Malonga is 6'6 with a 7'1 wing spanbeing guarded by 6'0 Jackie Young and facing a 5'10 Jewell Lloyd trying to block her shot.
She was the number 1 pick. They I get that she's young, but at worst she gets fouled. Wheeler had the easy shot and missed so it wouldn't have been on Malonga
She passes to Malonga there's a 50/50 chance of a turnover. The angle isn't there for a bounce pass and if she put it up high it might get tipped or the help defender ties up the ball.
They got an open 15 footer that just missed. Only mistake Skylar made was not shooting on the rebound. She should have know there wasn't enough time for a catch and shoot after a pass to Gabby.

Nah breh, Skylar needed to throw a lob pass, let Malonga catch it high in the air
Skylar only needed to wait a split second to draw the 2 defenders and there's literally no one there to rotate underneath the basket
G play in the W is lacking...you want Riyadh to attack Skylar there so you'd have a mismatch near the basket

Stewy been messing up parlays all season for me, so shes on the no bet zone list for me.Made the mistake when she first got back, then she went on a mini tear for a few games before the knee. And so I knew she would be trash last game stat wise and that proved to be true.
I'm confident in saying that she will be mildly effective tonight. And to avoid her completely if you are betting.

There was a split second where Jackie was trailing Malonga, and Riyadh + Golden Mamba were on Skylar
If Skylar wasn't planning to shoot, she absolutely had the opportunity to lob the ball to Malonga

It's not just about what Dom can do. You don't see the defender right in front of Skylar? You don't see Dom is behind Skylar? She tries to lob it the defender jumps and maybe tips it. You're risking a turnover so Skylar did the smart thing and decided to get it to Wheeler.
If Dom got ahead of Skylar and was moving to the rim there's a better angle for bounce pass but that didn't happen. The Dom option wasn't there.
Man it's 8 seconds left. You can't wait on anything. Dom isn't open get it to Wheeler and let her create. They got a great look.
She got Wheeler pulling up from the free throw line. A'ja might have rotated but she wasn't in real position to contest the shot. It just didn't go in.
Skylar made the right decision.
