i hope they lose enough money that they have to reduce the number of games. that way i could get into. nobody cares about a team playing another team 4 times in a row unless a championship is on the line.

Yep, you can get decent seats for around 20 bucks and just drink and talk shyt. The baseball game is just going on in the background.
Went to a Nats game earlier this season and I was startled by the number of women at the game. They weren't even paying attention to the game just chatting it up, drinking and socializing with their girlfriends. Could just be a DC thing cause they just like to be seen but total different scene than what I use to see at the K in Kansas City. I barely go to games anymore but even when I do my favorite thing is to keep score. I don't think 85% of peeps who to games now know how to keep score

that's subjective. if it weren't, how would u explain nascar's popularity. mothafukkas in ugly ass cars in a circle for like 9 hours :dead:

:what:

The tracks are different even though in general most of tracks are a circle...

Bristol is a FAR different track than Daytona even though there both circles....

Charlotte is far different than the other two tracks I mentioned...

How is 43 cars running anywhere between 100 - 200 MPH boring? :wtf:

Not to mention crashes, the threat of the "big one" at the restrictor plate tracks. At tracks like Daytona the cars are regularly going 200 MPH and there not spread out but basically racing in packs, NASCAR is easily one of the most exciting sports to watch.

Not to mention like two times a year they race on Road Coruse tracks :ohlawd:

And :childplease: at you calling the NASCAR race cars ugly, they look dope with the different paint schemes and all :ahh:

watching cars going around in circles is exciting now? i'm not white, i cant get jiggy with that shyt.

in what way is nascar more exciting or more fun to watch than a rally race, where cars are not on nice paved roads but dirt roads, with hills and jumps and all this other shyt?

^more excitement in this video than anyone can get from watching nascar.

I'm not white either, I'm black and yes watching cars go in circles is exciting....

The short racing tracks like Bristol and Martinsville has a lot of hard braking at turns and the cars bump and rub against each other a lot which makes for a exciting race....

Daytona and Talladega are HUGE tracks... one lap is like 2 miles on these tracks, cars race in packs going damn near 200 MPH, takes a lot of skill to drive to drive in basically a high speed traffic jam.

There's a bunch of other tracks are there all different, the mechanics have to make adjustments to the cars for each track, if that doesn't tell you that each track is different IDK what will. The only tracks that seem like a carbon copy of one another is Texas and Charlotte.

I guess you can say Rally racing is more entertaining to the casual fan than NASCAR :ehh:

But yea NASCAR is arguably the WOAT race car series...

No driving in the rain :comeon:

I remember watching Speed Channel and other racing series the cars kept racing though the rain but some reason NASCAR does not, and when it stops raining they have trucks dry the track :deadmanny:

You would think they would modify the cars so they could race in the rain and re fit them with windshield wipers by now :manny:

Californ-i-a by way of BK
first of all, 7 Billion to 5 Billion isnt waaaaaaaaaay more revenue.

2nd of all, the local tv deals is the only reason baseball makes that kinda revenue..... but like i said, and which u tried to ignore, the NBA is bigger than MLB in terms of national interest, social media, tv ratings, stars, worldwide, apparal etc.

I agree with the highlighted parts

While I respect the past greats that broke down the color barrier and paved the way for future athletes to enter, not just baseball, but all sports; the fact is the game itself is :snooze: status to me :manny:

Oh, this thread again. Where the anti-baseball ppl come in here spouting out shyt they have no idea about, and the pro-baseball ppl post facts that go ignored. "Baseball is dying" is one of the biggest falsehoods a person can say today. It's healthier than it's been in a long, long time. Just cause you view it as "boring cacball" doesn't make it a fact. But by all means, keep on perpetuating that myth.

The main problem with the World Series this year (as far as ratings go...apart from Game 1 being a blowout really early), is the scheduling. As pointed out in this article on Business Insider, 4 games goes head to head with the NFL, one College Football Saturday Night, and if there's a Game 7, it's on Halloween (which, is also a Thursday vs. the NFL). As the article points out, all they had to do was start the Series 1 day earlier, and things woulda been much better, as far as ratings go.

So the ratings aren't gonna be great, which means more of these kinds of threads, and the bullshyt "Baseball is dying" posts time after time. Personally, I don't give a shyt about ratings. I mean, they're taking a small sample, and projecting to the rest of the country, which is always a tricky thing. But hey, it makes for fun (and often times, dumb) debates, so carry on...

You've obviously never been to a rally race. Problem is, they never run at the same time. It's almost strictly a TV sport. The only competition is against the clock.

The various open wheel, sportscar, and stock car series are all better than rally which is why its almost never mentioned in any form in the US outside some stupid Ken Block videos. He himself is a good stunt driver but mediocre compared to real rally drivers.
