Jesus christ. The conversations I used to have with my mom when I could not get a job. She talmbout dressing nice and showing up 15 minutes early.

You know what showing up 15 minutes early to interviews get you nowadays? A 25 minute wait, cause they are busy and they will move you to another
room just to have you wait a few more minutes.

I wish I could just walk into places, tell them I am interested, and be told "Ok, come back Monday." Nowadays you get told *while in the establishment* that

you have to apply online. Not only that, but background checks, unless they rush them, can have you waiting a few weeks for a callback...IF they call you back.

One job I worked, I was hired, but nobody called me back. I had to call in to get the offer for employment

In a lot of ways, the last few generations had it fukking easy. They left a pile of shyt for us 20-30 somethings, and blame us for it

dapped and repped for real talk.

You are right...The job search for black men and women is depressingly hard. Small minimum wage jobs do not even like to hire black people.

I've tried to harassment route. They told me not to call back, and that THEY'LL call me back if I got the job. I'm starting to believe that whole "Just keep calling them" stuff is BS. It really is. If they don't want to hire you, THEY WONT. And calling back 100 times won't change that.

I don't know how many times I've heard this bullshyt too. I was always told that if you do this, it shows initiative and how much you really want that job. I used to harass HR departments but they always gave me the run around. Seriously, if they want you, they want you. If they don't, they don't.

Even if you get a referral it's no guarantee that you'll land the job. It just means you get an interview.
I've got plenty of stories about job referrals that went south once I actually showed up for the interview-and I'm one of the cleanest nikkas I know.

Racism is real it's not just your imagination. The only way out of this trap is black business, but that term is an oxymoron when you apply it to most nikkas.

We are potentially sitting on MULTIPLE bubbles right now: housing bubble (again ), tech bubble, and a student loan bubble. On top of that you have developing countries creating the illusion of growth but it's a house of cards essentially (see: chinese economy).

And the automation revolution ain't even hit us yet .

I honestly don't know what to tell people, I'm in STEM and even I know long term (30-40 yrs) my prospects ain't all that. Some fakkit will probably come up with a way to automate writing domain specific software soon, they already trying with web design with that lame squarespace shyt
