He debuted in '98 and died in Early 2000

Not really a "run" but he had a big impact in such a short time

Old heads? If you are a millennial you’d know Pun and have been aware of his run. It was 1997-2000. Somebody born into the mid 1980s.

Yeah.

The problem is your lack of logic and nuance. In your mind, bigger equals sold more records.

The overall impact DMX had hat year was bigger that Jay. He was the biggest rap phenomenon that year.
The biggest “rap phenomenon” and wasn’t even the biggest rapper in his state that year :wow:

You can hear it pretty clearly but most especially on that tarvesty of a second album.

Son was nice with the pen but couldn't really spit that shyt live without hype-men to complete his shyt. nikkas that saw him live frequently might wanna correct me on that but that's what I remember.

He could still rap his ass off without assistance when he was recording Capital Punishment

His weight got completely out of control after that album blew up and you can tell when the punch ins began, because the heavy breathing disappeared. Dude's prowess in the booth was legendary, from stumbling in drunk and dropping the Fantastic 4 verse in one take to dropping the verse on Pete Rock album while eating potato chips

Live on the radio

Pun start at 5:05 on this, no studio magic

:mjlol: at some of the responses in here saying he ain't have a run

His mixtape and guest spot run in 1997 and 1998 was legendary, his debut album was dope as fukk and a big commercial success

Still Not A Player was an anthem and still fill the dance floor to this day

Don't know about the whole top 10 thing, don't really see that except from a few superstans. His catalog ain't deep enough for that but his talent was obvious. Dude was a rarity in that he could slide to any lane effortlessly, from lyrical miracle rappity rap, to hardcore street shyt, to horrorcore, to heartfelt, to storytelling, to commercial pop hits, with natural charisma and a sense of humor
