Rooting for the kid. I think he’s gonna be a big factor for y’all.

Brehs was talkin the other day tho, what if Harden/Westbrook on the market? Y’all biting or y’all want to just do a holistic rebuild?
what scenario are we getting them at ? Tbh no depending the scenario we don’t have enough to contend with either one

Whether or not he’ll have the talent for it, RJ really has the perfect temperament to be a star in NY. Love how he moves and carries himself. Staying low and just working his ass off like we all know he does. You can tell he wants to be great too. Badly.

I like that point due to him being a lefty his vision gets blocked shooting :ehh:I think Rjs going to catch a lot of teams sleeping next year:blessed:

I like the fact RJ not only seeked outside help but the "right" help
You can't just get any trainer you need one with a solid track record
The Knicks certainly weren't developing him :mjlol:
It was so bad RJ was trying to find outside help during the season to help develop him because no one on the Knicks were doing development
But now w/ all these new development coaches RJ will now have Hanlen to work w/ in the offseason and the development staff to work w/ during training camp and the season
Hanlen has been working w/ RJ since before the season
Hanlen said they already have a 5 year plan for improving RJ's game
1st year was defense
2nd year is shooting and handles
3rd year is shot creation

This is hopefully that development team we were supposed to have when Fiz was hired:martin::lupe:I just hope the youth actually gets the bulk of attention this time. Dubious needs to be on the first flight out followed by crazy eyes Bobby:camby:

Pointing out his astronomical foul rate isn’t hating[/B]. If you can’t stay on the court what good is it. I thought young Shump was a hack this dude takes it to another level and part of that is because of his lack of foot speed leads to hand-checks and reaches at times.

I’d also like to see him become more of a defensive playmaker with that 7’1 wingspan.
Let's not make our points meaningless by using words that over emphasize what we're trying to say and making hypotheses that don't bear out in video.

Frank has a high foul rate certainly... He's 33rd out of all guards in the league per 36 and THAT is high. But I wouldn't use the term astronomical when I see that his foul rate isn't too far from Patrick Beverly and less than Kris Dunn. When you remove the guard filter, Frank drops to 113... High, but still far away from the likes of Mitchell Robinson and MUCH further from the Dwight Howard's and Dewayne Dedmons who essentially would foul out every game.

Also worth noting, Frank never fouled out this season. A deeper dive into his stats reveal he only fouled his season high (5) a total of 7 times. He fouled 4 times in an additional 10 games. He played in 57 games this year....the numbers don't jive that Frank is especially bad at fouling. Not when comparing him to prolific fouler Mitchell Robinson... Not when correlating his minutes with his fouls (2, 4 and 3 fouls in his 3 longest games). That's a macro look...more to your point, Frank does have 9 low minute games (18 mins or lower) with a high number of fouls (3 or more). That indicates that there IS a problem although it's not a consistent one. I can explain away 3 or so games as an anomaly but not 9.

Now let's go to the tape
Frank vs Washington Wizards 3-10-20

Frank vs Brooklyn Nets 12-26-19

Frank vs Brooklyn Nets 1-26-20

So those are some of the 5 foul games and I'm seeing that Frank's most common foul doesn't come from lack of footspeed or reaching, but from being overly aggressive and/or fighting to prevent the score when he's out of position. Mostly this occurs when he's switched onto a big but there are a few instances when defending during the fast break where wings can catch him off guard. There's also a foul in almost every game that either didn't have to be called or there was no foul.

The next few videos are Frank against speedy guards.

First and only game against De'Aaron Fox. There's one play where you have a case but it's mostly just bad fouls by Frank in very limited minutes.

Game against Russell Westbrook :yeshrug: he had 2 fouls in 29 minutes (1 of which was due to Russell's speed but could've been a no call from this angle)

Tried to find a game against Kemba but could only find one full game where Frank had small mins and a second game where the Knicks kept switching Julius Randle onto him for some reason (fukking Fizdale).
