I would run post up action for him and id screen to get him on smaller defenders, thats what i would do with him to get him going...thats his game use his body and size down low as lil dribbling as possible....His game is not shooting contested perimeter jumpers and handling the ball 25 feet from the basket...Get it to to him down low 2 dribbles lower ur shoulder and go up strong....I dont mind him taking 3s when hes open and the ball swings and winds up in his hands, but the dribbling for 18 seconds and then pulling up to beat the shot clock is horrible offense and theres too much of that going on with this team....
The problem with him posting up deep in the paint is it doesn't work unless you make Randle to only big on the floor. The spacing required for him not to get double or triple teamed only happens when everyone is by the 3 point line. We know what happens when he's double or triple teamed already

You have to give credit to Mills, Perry and Fizdale though. In just one off-season they managed to make one of the best defensive prospects, high ceiling, low maintenance players, a player that doesn't need offensive touches but still contributes irrelevant.

Fiz has been on a mission to bench Mitch since Summer League and just 7 games into season he accomplished it. Benching a walking double-double, blocking machine is not an easy thing to do, but he did it :wow:

If you tried your hardest to sign free agents that would be more detrimental to the development of our youth, you wouldn't have been able to do the job Mills and Perry did.

I look forward to Mills/Perry maxing out DeMar DeRozan next season so we can bench RJ and play a 5 man ISO game we're destined for.

Was hoping Ingram would have one more downish year before he broke out. No way NO doesn’t match anything he’s offered this summer.

He’s also a tale of why you don’t give up on these guys so early. Not blaming the Lakers for the trade, but a lot of Lakers fans were calling the kid a bust cause he wasn’t destroying the league as a 20 year old and comparing him to Kuzma who’s 2 years older.

I'd take that risk...the FA class isn't great any way and the salary cap might not be as high as original projections. I wrote off RFA's last year and then Malcolm Brogdon shook loose to Indy.

so fizz gets no credit for how rj has played so far? or for how knox has improved? or for how mitch and trier exceeded expectations last year?
He got a lottery pick playing like a beast ? He not even putting RJ in the best position RJ is just skilled for a 19 year old ( probably due to his upbringing and Nash ) does he take blame for trier and Mitch regression ??

Must were Laker fans who don’t know shyt about basketball. Most of us knew Ingram was oozing star potential and was improving every year. Don’t know what to say about the ones who thought Kuz was/is better :francis:

so when young players on our team play well its their own doing? and when they play bad its fizz fault?

mitch and trier have not regressed. the front office brought in a bunch of players that werent needed and it has naturally taken minutes away from them

We need a point guard. A fukking real point guard.
As much as I like RJ, that 2nd pick Ja Morant would've had Fiz looking godly. RJ is a 2 guard that plays point because he's a good playmaker but if we had 1 good point....1 good point, our offense would be looking nice. Knox plays better when he fukking moves and doesn't wait on the wing. I don't care about the big man spacing but a point guard to help RJ would help a lot, not DLo, maybe Booker or Reggie Jackson....shyt when is Donovan Mitchell's contract up?

Either way, there's 2 players that I see a really high ceiling on and I'm just waiting on the organization to make a stupid move and trade one of them so that i can no longer be a Knicks fan. As much as you guys like Trier, he's aight.

As much as I like Ingram and he was my favorite Laker, we'd be doing more harm than good trying to get him. I'm at the point where we need to start trading or benching those vets and get a whole new coach. The offense only works when RJ makes plays for Randle in the hole. Occasionally, Mook or Randle will hit a 3 but those guys need to specialize and stick to playing inside the perimeter ball and rebounding. Guys like RJ, Knox and someone that can dribble and shoot on the perimeter needs have specific plays to dish to those guys when they're double teamed. If they are singled, they can drive to the hole and if big man has an opening lob it to them.
Morris is not a perimeter ball handler which is why I say, Knox, RJ, Payton, Frank, Wayne, Trier, Dotson are guys that should be playing 1-3. The vets, Iggy and Mitch should be playing inside the perimeter and you only need 2 big guys. The spacing issue is when you have 3 big guys playing inside the perimeter all trying to bully ball and post up. Now they're getting double teamed and making the defense look superior. Morris, Randle, Portis/Mitch should not all be on the court at the same time. I thought fiz would've figured this out by now but I've given up.

Over the next 70 games Mook, Randle and Portis or Mitch will start and create spacing issues while other teams laugh and start playing their D leaguers out there for practice like that 8 ft Nigerian dude Tacko Flacco.

I didn't like Marbury or Thomas as coach. There's times where I was so disappointed in this team, I had to jump ship. I'll probably say Nate Robinson was my last good favorite Knicks point guard.

You don’t think that has anything to do with a 6.6 foul per 36 minute rate :heh:
