My Pops Forever RIP
I'd like to give some optimistic perspective regarding the Knicks record this year.

Now I know many of you have understandably given up on the season. The Knicks have looked inconsistent, unimpressive, and just plain bad for about half of the games this year. They've been blown out more times this year than they have won games. With the moves they've made in the offseason, as well as rhetoric leading into the preseason, the Knicks have indicated this is not the year for moral victories. Yet...there have been more moral victories than not. It would seem all hope is lost.

Except if you happen to look at the league outside of the Knicks. Yes, the Knicks are at an abysmal 4-15 Record. However, if you look up at the teams above (and below) them, the Knicks are still capable of turning the year around. The Hawks are currently tied for worst team in the league with the Golden State Warriors. The view above doesn't look to daunting either. Here are the records of the 6 teams above New York:

Cleveland (5-14) [1 Game]
Chicago (6-14) [1.5 Games]
Detroit (6-13) [2 Games]
Washington (6-11) [3 games]
Charlotte (8-13) [3 games]
Orlando (7-11) [3.5 games] for the 8th Seed

Even if we look at the games the Knicks have played so far...the teams that the Knicks have played strongest against, with the exception of the defending champion Raptors, have all been inside of their own division. The Atlantic Division is currently the only division in the entire league that has FOUR teams with a better than .500 record. No other division outside of the Northwest Division has more than 2 teams with a winning record. What this means is that the Knicks, who already have two wins against winning teams, are performing better than we think. By all means, the Knicks aren't playing good. But when they do play good, they play well enough to compete with winning teams. The issue is that when they play bad, the play bad enough to lose to bad teams.

So what does this all mean? Ultimately, nothing. The Knicks are still currently a bad team until they can figure out how to win. BUT, if the Knicks can figure out how to be consistent, and pick up some wins during this tough stretch, they can figure out how to become a playoff team assuming these other teams continue to trend in this direction. And if you believe like me that trending upwards can be a positive team builder and useful for development, then you know it's too early to root for or against tanking right now.
shout outs to the Knicks proceeding to shyt the bed after you gave this inspired speech

What makes you say this? I firmly believe that this game would've gone equally well if Randle were out instead of Morris. And it's only equal because Randle is shooting a high percentage
Just that he was the last guy signed. We’d still be a bad team, but we’d actually be able to develop the young guys correctly and actually have spacing on offense had we not gotten Morris to renege on SA. shyt, he’s even hurting Randles development.

Don’t get me wrong, if i has to choose between Randle and Morris I’m taking Morris 10/10.

scapegoating as usual
I don't see that as scapegoating.

Julius can't help be a rockhead, he doesn't know any different. Fiz has been watching all this unfold for the last 20 games, and yet still proceeds to not only play him in closing lineups, but runs post-ups for him too. How many times does he need to see Julius make a fool outta himself down the stretch before he does something different?

I’m just watching these games to watch franks progression:mjgrin: @ISO

@seemorecizzy

I also like watching RJ play:ehh:
I missed today’s game what happened?
Fiz and company ain't helping
Mitch needs a new big man mentor because Taj ain't teaching him shyt either
Ya coddle these players too much. Mitch needs to have his own self determination to overcome the fouling issue.

Ya so hell bent on a savior vet “teaching” him. He chases blocks he needs to tone it down some.

The trend we've had over 3 of the last 4 games (and prior to that) is the Knicks play well enough to compete with playoff teams for 3 quarters, and then blow it in the 4th. If the roster was really so terrible, the Knicks would just be outright losing. The Knicks play good to great basketball and then completely go away from what gave them success in the closing minutes. That is a COACHING issue. If the players that are on the court are choosing to go away from winning basketball, it's the coach who puts them out there and leaves them out there. I don't wanna hear about this being an imperfect roster. I can name 4 or 5 winning teams with an imperfect roster. This coach needs to coach better
Seems like a not having a closer issue to me

that’s the Nba no team is down 40 every game by halftime.teans pull away in the 4th quarter. That isn’t something to build on.

You’ve been the blind optimist here since youve been posting on the other site which has to be 10-15 years now.

At what point do you look at things for the way they really are with this garbage franchise?

I'm very familiar with garbage. There was a point in time when I thought a starting lineup full of poor defenders and streaky offense could make it to the playoffs if they just played good. I'm smarter now. I'm not saying we have anything to build on now...just that there is evidence that we might have something to build on. If we had a competent coach we would know for a fact one way or another. Either way, things have been trending up even though we've lost a lot of games over the past few years. I'm willing to wait.

Now...who the fukk are you?

Fizdale is hurting Randle's development (if he is even being developed which I don't agree he is) not Morris. There are offensive schemes Fizdale could've employed that would have made their playing next to each other not seem so muddled. Or at the very least, he could choose to stagger their minutes so their times playing next to each other was limited. He's done neither.
