You brehs losing your minds in here.

Last three years he's played 61, 58 and 58 games.

He's got more strained hamstrings than Frank has strained groins :dame:

He's always been a p*ssy and a drama starter in the locker rooms and not the guy portrayed in State Farm commercials :stopitslime:

Even in his prime he could never lead his teams to their potential :hubie:

He is 34 years old with $38m, $41m and $44m left on his contract :damn:

He has the second worst contract in the NBA after John Wall according to every single person who knows anything about NBA or salary cap.

Only teams that should take a gamble on him are contending teams that are willing to mortgage their future for a shot at a championship, not rebuilding team that will handicap their salary cap and in best case scenario be doomed to 3 years of first round exits.
And he'd instantly be better than every Knick guard since Walt Frazier :mjlol:

All we need is like 60 games from him anyway it's not like we're contenders :shaq2:

CP3 is an intense competitor and played on teams with high expectations and other combustible personalities so yes some controversy arose. Those Clipper teams were good but never good enough to win. It is what it is and it has nothing to do with how he could help us in the 2.5 years he'd spend with us.

He could easily transform our team right now and help whatever guard we draft develop :comeon:

knicks are trash right now and there aint much we can do about it this year and mayb even next.
all we can do is deal with it like men and keep it moving.
no need to do anything drastic

trading for washed up, overpaid, chris paul who is only gonna get worse has gotta be the most knick thing to do ever

Why would a team like ours care about money owed on his contract?
Because it eats up huge amount of salary cap which we won't be able to use on players that have a future in this league. Or multiple, boatloads of picks and maybe even talent that can be acquired when taking on bad salaries from other teams.
Why would a team like ours care about his injury proneness?
Why are you trading for him then if you don't care about his ability to stay on the court? I thought the whole point was to have him improve the team significantly. A guy that couldn't play 60 games at 32 will not be able to play 82 games at 36 at a high level. And certainly not play anywhere close to his prime.

When exactly do you think the Knicks are gonna be good again? It'll be after 2022 when his contract expires correct?
Again what is being good?
I agree but if the Knicks still have Julius Randle by the end of next year, he's making 19.8 Mil. They're not waiving him to save 16 million
Are we really still arguing about numbers that can be easily looked at and compared.

Randle is only guaranteed one more year at $23m (not $19m because of a 3rd year buyout bonus).

CP3 is guaranteed two more years at $41m and $44m.

No we won't waive Randle because he only has one more year remaining at much more reasonable money than what will be a 36 year old injury prone 6 foot point guard.

Dog he’s better than Randle and gets Randle off the team. Better by light years than any point guard we have.

He’s on a rebuilding OKC team but at least they’re around .500 and he’s being commended for his work with the young players.

His game isn’t going to fall off a cliff in the next 2.5 years we’d have him. We’re talking about a HoF’er here, he’s still highly productive at the moment. It’s a lot to pay but look at how much we have invested in Portis and Randle and it’s not like we can’t eat the money.

randle can be traded easily if it comes down to it.
hes not hated around the league like hes hated in this thread..lol

chris paul's contract is virtually untradeable, is for almost double the money, and he wont even be playing for a good portion of it.

also, the last 2 teams he was on, he had locker room issues with guys lol i wouldnt say hes da most liked guy out there

Lol, moving Randle won’t be easy there aren’t many suitors for him.

CP3 won’t have to be traded so who cares? Nikkas acting like CP3 missing entire seasons. He’s been around 60 games the last 3 seasons. We aren’t contenders so it doesn’t matter like that he could also be load managed.

The “issues” are being dragged out of proportion. To some people he is one of the best leaders the game has seen.

Exactly.

We already lost this year by wasting our salary flexibility in order to chase mediocrity instead of acquiring picks. So now people in here want to double down on mediocrity with a CP3 trade.

By reading last two pages you would think a player that's 10 years younger and will have an expiring contract next year that's half the money of CP3 is somehow harder to trade :heh:
