What the hell did I just watch? He is playing exactly like a country strong SG version of KD.
no one in the NBA could stop this.
He just pulled out every move offensive move you can think of with both hands.

At the 2:00 mark He caught a weakside block off of the backboard and managed to save the ball from going out of bounds. then he walked a tightrope on the baseline leading a one man fast break.
Then going at the rim he did a 2-direction-change euro step into a double pump layup with his left hand, all while running at full speed.

And then he follows up at the 2:30 mark with a two hand over-head bounce pass from half court thru multiple defenders that was absolutely ridiculous.

Not even sure who to compare him to. We need Edwards. He's a future MVP

Anthony Edwards - NBADraft.net

NBA Comparison: Dwyane Wade/Donovan Mitchell
Strengths: 6’4 combo guard with elite level athleticism … Shows a good feel for the game and competitiveness … Good size and length for position with a 6’9 wingspan and 8’4 standing reach … Strong build. At 17, already has an NBA body … Uses his strength well and should be able to add additional strength … Finishes well with contact and can bully smaller guards … High-level athleticism, good body control, and hang time … Has a quick first step … Gets to the rim and throws down dunks in traffic … Gets going down hill with a dribble drive and finishes well with either hand … Natural scoring ability … Shoots well from three and can shoot from NBA range … Needs just a little bit of space to get his shot off … Adept ballhandler and drives with either hand … Keeps his head up and has good court vision … Reads double teams well … Passes out of drives … Good rebounder for his position … Good tools and athleticism defensively … Blocks shots well for a guard … Makes the game look easy … Good competitor and doesn’t lack for confidence … Youth is on his side. One of the youngest incoming freshmen, won’t turn 18 until August, 2019

shyts pure trash lol

it’s really mind boggling how some people here think this roster is good and we have some sort of bright future with these mediocre young guys but the coach is holding us back lol what the hell are they watching? We have NOTHING except for maybe Barrett who might be good one day but is not a franchise changer you need to win titles.

I’m not sticking up for Fiz. I think he’s a mediocre coach at best who’s hype is from being Lebrons friend and the media likes him. He needs to go too. But people who think he’s the only problem are lost.

A lot of cats only watch Knicks basketball.

Pretty much every other team has a young core as good as ours or better.

He played exactly like his description in the MSU game you posted.

Having a core of RJ and an Edwards/Wiseman/Cole Anthony type is exactly the nucleus this team needs to turn things around. All these other guys become complimentary pieces at that point and if you are wise with the salary cap are then in a position to eventually sign a 3rd impact player...and then we’ll be in a position to actually compete for titles. Until then, as others have mentioned, we remain one of the weakest talent pools in the NBA.

that might be the worst “core” in the league. Our roster is so bleak

there all huge question marks. RJ is the only one who I feel decent about
It's kind of hard to evaluate the "core" due to the fact that they have a coach that is playing vets over the majority of them and giving guys inconsitent minutes

How much has Trier improved? Hard to know since he doesn't even play some games and will play one quarter and will never be seen again
How much has Knox improved? It looks like he has improved but his minutes are up and down so it's hard to judge him. His defense sucks we know that
How much has Mitch improved? Hard to know since he's always in foul trouble
How much has Frank improved? He was in the dog house at one point and would probably still be in it if not due to injuries
We do know his defense is elite and his offense is developing

How good is RJ? This frustrates me because
1) RJ never gets the ball enough to get into rhythm some games as he's ball dominant
2) Unlike other rookies like Ja the offense doesn't run through RJ so how could we know?
3) His teammates constantly waive him off

My point is it's hard to evaluate the core due to dumbass decisions by both the FO and coach
If all the young players were playing 30+ minutes e.g. Trier, Mitch, Knox, etc. like they should be, we could get a better idea
You can't develop properly if you don't get consistent minutes

The FO got all these vets that hinder the young players development with the team being just as bad if not worse than last year to show for it
The young players should be getting all the minutes and all the shots
If not then what's the point of a young core?

I’m a Fiz fan but I’m sorry if we had a better coach we’d have a better record. If you can’t use this roster to get to 500 you’re probably not a good coach. Raptors young core was a bunch of unknowns a few years ago and now they’re playing like a well oiled machine. They’re not even missing a beat after kawhi left.

I actually believe Dolan bought into a proper rebuild after missing out on star Free Agents the past few years, BUT he is expecting an upward trend in wins which we have not shown so far, so the FO and Fiz are in panic mode trying to squeeze out victories just to show even the slightest improvement over last season. That is a recipe for disaster as we’ll continue to see the vets steal minutes from the young guys and hinder their development. This also creates a vicious cycle, since even if Fiz and/or Perry Mills are fired anyone new coming in will be expected to improve results, and it is hard for anyone to trust inexperienced players to do that, so they’ll probably do more of the same. Our only hope at this time is for Fiz to admit his strategy is not working, accept his fate and primarily play the young guys on his way out (and who knows, maybe it magically works and saves his job).

BRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKLLLLLYYYYYNNNN
What baffles me is how these kids got good moral ethical attitude, size, skill. Fizdale seems to have a great character but overall this team sucks worse than Lizzos asscheeks. This is kinda why I wish Knox, Frankie, Dotson, RJ and Mitch would leave and go to another team together so i can stop being disappointed dawg.
