Edwards/Cole/Melo and Barrett in the backcourt for the next 5-8 years or cp3 for 3?
Thats how I look at it.
Like storyteller said, with the new rules, you have no guarantee of drafting that high anyway. And if the Knicks fukk around and win games with this group, you're really saying "Randle, Barrett, Mitch for 3 years or CP3 for 3"

That's pretty much how I view it too, but the new coach is barely getting started so if the Knicks start looking like they won't be in the Edwards/Melo/Cole sweepstakes anyway then the CP3 idea starts to sound better. I'm also wondering if interest in Randle pops up...doubtful but sometimes GM's or Coaches surprise you (usually we're the ones making that kind of mistake though smh).

So I think we can agree on this. Knicks have 10-11 winnable games before the deadline. If the Knicks have 16-17 wins by the trade deadline, then we're likely not getting any of those guys unless luck is in our favor. If the Knicks are winning anyway, then a CP3 trade wouldn't be so bad. If the Knicks are below that 10 win bar, then they should go full tank

My nikka...he just dropped 30, 10 and 8 on the Bulls. His first 30 point game since a week ago. He opens up the floor by adding another 3 point shooter, would be the veteran PG who could show Frank & DSJ how to improve their game, and only his and Randle's contracts end the same year. The only difference is that if we decide to waive Randle (which I'm pretty sure we wouldn't do anyway), we'd only have to pay him 4 million. But either way, they're both off the books in 2022.

Not to mention it's addition by subtraction, you get rid of Randle, you can put Mitch back in the lineup and still have good spacing:

PG Paul
SG Ntilikina
SF Barrett
PF Mook
C Mitch

(Shout out to homeboy who been trying to get us to trade for CP3 all season)
You trade for CP so you can get picks out of it. So I’d want 1 future first and Bazley from the Thunder for CP3.

WTF happened to Knox :mindblown:

I have nothing to look forward to with this team.

I was sold Lebron in 2010
I was sold Amare
I was sold Amare and Melo
I was force fed Linsanity
I was sold on Lebron Again
I was sold Phil Jackson
I was sold Porzingis.
I was sold KD
I was sold Zion

This team will be bottom feeders for a long time.

I have multiple trade scenarios in this thread, one has us getting CP3 a 1st and a 2nd round pick. I don't think we get 2 firsts in a salary dump

OKC has a shyt ton of picks. If they're trying to get out from under CP3 contract then they might have to give up one. But I agree with you because I don't think they're really motivated to move him in the first place

From a content creation standpoint, nothing garners more interest from readers than trade talk.

You trade for CP so you can get picks out of it. So I’d want 1 future first and Bazley from the Thunder for CP3.

I still haven't gotten a good look at Bazley in extended time. But I thought the tools compared to the athletic profile were intriguing as all hell.

Immediately its an improvement but it also takes away cap space which is another valuable asset. I know you wanna get rid of Randle but this isnt the way. Stay with the long term plan

And do you really think Sam Presti of all Gm's is gonna trade CP3 for Julius Randle and filler? :heh:
THeyre using him to mentor Shai
I don’t get it, we gotta pick one narrative. Either NOBODY wants to play for the Knicks and we should get guys in here who can create a culture OR we should keep money open hoping for stars. How do we get shyt on for every option we take? CP3 isn’t the ideal trade recipient for Randle, but there isn’t that much out there guys. With these Contracts now a days, trades are gonna be harder to come by. It’s either trading Randle for CP or trading him for a guy like Batum who actually adds nothing to this team.
