Kyle Kuzma or Landry Shamet if we trade Mook to LA

Which young player do y’all prefer?

definitely shamet

good shooter, solid defense, intriguing potential at the 2 and perhaps the 1 at times

Any good point guard commands $20M at least. It’s not his fault he’s playing with a G-League supporting cast and what he did last season is to be commended not downplayed talking about seeding guys like LeVert and Dinwiddie missed a good amount of time and he still anchored that team on offense.

This “rebuilding plan” is leading us into the lottery and development hell. We need talent. We need a legit player to open up the floor for these young guys. We need to win games. We need to build a culture. No FA’s are joining an empty house.

Nah, last season's performance was gassed up as a marketing exercise to try and convince his replacement to sign there. They had a ton of depth which got them tied for 15th overall record in a 30 team league and 1 playoff win. That's not worth 30 million a year.

I agree that we need to win games. I think there are better alternatives to make a winning team than trading for DLo though, especially if the trade demands are true. I'm not giving up Mitch or first rounders to get him for sure.

Doc played him that way, when SGA was with the clippers.

He's playing more PG this year by default according basketball reference when Beverley and Williams are off the court. Shamet still doesn't fit the traditional or modern mold of a point guard, but he'd fit great on this team as a solid 3&D swingman.

FVV was giving Steph fits (on both ends of the floor) in the nba finals. The hell are you talking about? :wtf:

According to Twitter, Trier got traded. Apparently he’s leaking shyt to random knicks twitter guys so take it for what it’s worth.

What part of " I'm leery of the Knicks giving a BAG to previously unknown guards that had a good season or 2 in another system, because historically no one has ever come here and built off that success?" did you not understand? Paraphrased for this post, but that's exactly what I said/meant. What he did against Steph in the finals means nothing to me. It only matters if he can do it again. Consistently. For a full season. As a starter playing over 35 mpg. Do you now know what the hell I'm talking about?

Right I believe Shamet's game could be tailored to the 2 or 3 as well.

I just figured RJ is your future 3&D guy, so why not have Shamet at the point.

Either way he wouldn't potentially be a bad pickup.

This is similar to my theory on why I think frank could work at the 1 if we drafted Edwards. The playmaking goes to RJ and Edwards while frank plays predominantly off ball and stays in for defense. You replace frank with shamet and the same applies except he’s better for your offense and not as much for the defense.

With the amount of ball handlers and playmakers in this draft, I can see taking shamet for his ability to stretch the floor and figuring you can flexibly pick any of the playmakers to slot in with shamet and RJ. My ideal situation heading into next season is for RJ and a top five pick to be the guys with the highest usage on the team.

I take shamet over Kuzma because shooting is our biggest need and I also think Knox will end up loving to the 4 in due time.

Shamet and it’s not even close.

A back court with Edwards and Rj.... Would that work? Can Edwards play the one?
No. He’s a 2. RJ would slide over to the 3, his natural position imo.

No i don’t. He’s the third best player on the Raptors that are one of the top seeds in the east. Playing 36 minutes a game.
