I'm a lot more optimistic than you on CAA fam. The front office hirings have been really, really promising. I think the Harper move had Brock Aller written all over it. I think Thibs' success or lack of success will be more decided by the decisions Rose makes with free agents and draft picks than anything else.

I just can’t do it, anymore. Even just a few pages back I been saying depending on this CAA thing I am out. I meant it.

I’m about to stop following knicks writers on Twitter, and just get news from this thread.

Yahoo is now a part of Veryizon Media -David West goes into how many times can a white professional fail upwards and get another chance to fail. With a 5 year contract we are basically paying Thibs leading into his retirement.

David West is Absolutely right. We’re in for a hell of a show smh
Huh Thibs has 2 losing seasons in his career and was one of the best coaches in the nba. Your acting like the Knicks turned Down some clear cut better coaching candidate . Every one had flaws either inexperienced or were fired fir some issues( Atkinson and Kidd) Thibs has won in both minny and Chicago
First off fukk you, I don’t see why you are trying to shame me for saying I am about done with the Knicks.

I got a foot out the door. That’s what it is. I’m going to see how inept and corrupt this team is this summer and I might fully be out. Which says a lot cause I post in here often, but yeah this is about it for me.
Your overreacting. Thibs has won Breh he’s won even more so than Atkinson and kidd. If he is the exact same Thibs and we suck that’s one thing but let’s see if the multiple assistants are brought in to support him and what the future looks like

Thibs defense in Minnesota ranked 27th every year he was there. His defense became outdated as soon as the pace and space era started in 2016.

The same thing happened to Kidd.

Minnesota also struggled to get three pointers with Thibs. Ryan Saunders instantly changed that. Thibs has always struggled to prioritize spacing.

:francis:
Who were his shooters in minny

He had one year with jimmy and then jimmy blew up the squad. Towns and wiggins never won with any coach

You sound kind of delusional To the modern nba breh . Us not getting KD and kyrie and even bron saying our pitch in 2010 was garbage shows that we need to change and get better organization and player relations . Look at how successful teams are being developed they mostly all have ties to agents and a focused on being attractive to players as a whole ,nyc and the garden don’t mean much and if anything May be detriment.

It seems like KAT wiggins and Thibs were never a fit together in Minny and he thought jimmy / rose might be able to toughen them up and it backfired

I’m good bro. I appreciate ya’ll trying to rationalize with me, but nah.

I’m going to watch their draft/FA moves and if they go down a certain way.

I don’t get your hate for CAA though , Outside of Thibs looking at Roses moves what do you dislike ? Worldwide Wes ? Do you disagree the Knicks need to change their approach? I doubt all players refuse to come just because Dolan ( who is usually loyal and willing to overpay people )

The Bargnani trade, JR Smiths brother getting a spot on the team, us trading for a Melo before his FA, all was orchestrated by CAA (aka Leon Rose). The excuse was CAA was working with Dolan to secure him a very lucrative Chase Bank deal.

up until recently I thought ok well he is working for the Knicks so it might be different. However, this recent stuff to me all points to nope, this is CAA running the Knicks. Like right now I want to know if the smart FO is full of CAA clients as well.

Why would anyone sign on to be a fan of that.

Only thing i dont understand is how is this "the final straw" moment. So much in Knicks history has been so much worse. Certainly worse trades, player acquisitions, coaching hires, etc.

Funny thing is, for every item you'd mention, I could name a team that has done the same thing and not a peep be made. The Bargs deal got Grunwald canned immediately as it should have. All teams have made bad deals. Signing JR's brother? So what? Min salary, dude never played and got cut. I'm sure we signed several min vets deal to make up that "production". The Bucks signed Giannis scrub ass brother for two years recently. The few decent most recent years have been when the Knicks took this approach.

I'm just saying the Knicks have operated far worse, but now is the time bail? This is like a woman dealing with a man that physically has put her in the hospital several times with real abuse, but deciding enough is enough because he let her phone get cut off.

Do you, but thats lame and you know it.

i agree with being worried about the CAA. does any other team in any other sport deal with something like that? where they focus on being overwhelmingly comprised of players and coaches represented by a single agency?

there might be an example but i never heard of it. it sounds completely ridiculous. if it plays out like that i'll be pissed and it really might if we're judging by recent history and the people in charge.

for example do we need to worry about mitch now that he signed with klutch? probably not, but the fact the answer isn't an obvious outright no is worrisome.

true, where lebron goes klutch goes.

i guess i'd worry less about this kind of influence if it meant we had the best player in the world on the team. but the knicks relationship with caa has never produced beneficial results on the court. anything but. hopefully their new FO hires influence some smart decisions and they prove me wrong.

Certainly, although I would say the Knicks best most recent years was when CAA was littered throughout the roster. I'm not endorsing them to go that route, just pointing out simple facts.

I am tired of the knicks fan cycle of hope/disappointment and this was the most blatant fukkery in recent time. It’s not like KP that was out the blue..... we saw it coming, the media reported on it, someone even gave us the day it would be announced because Woj a CAA client was suspended and they wanted him to be the one to announce the news. No other team in sports operates like that. It’s a bullshyt move. It’s the biggest red flag I seen with this team since we heard they were going to get Melo no matter what, and then gutted the roster and picks to do it.

You gave the example of an abused woman.... which is problematic because there are some legit similarities. So imagine you saw the abuse coming. Yeah it’s not the worst abuse that could happen but it’s telegraphed and there is room for escalation. fukk that.....

BRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKLLLLLYYYYYNNNN
I see let's see how it plays out before judging. I hope they bring Iggy back and create plays for Frank, RJ, Iggy, Knox and Mitch.

The biggest issues were no spacing. Thibs is known for creating shytty plays with no spacing. RJ and rookie improvement is the main factor for this season. There are no excuses for Knox and Frank. If they suck ass this coming season, trade em. I always give these rookies 3-4 years tops for make it or break it.
