no one said that last year
post an example
3 years of al hortford to move up 3 slots in a weak draft:mjlol:
you nikkas dont wanna win

We are year 2 in a rebuild. We reset last year, even Steph and the warriors didn’t make the playoffs until year 4. We got assets and time.

The reason I bring up Horford is I don’t think Horford is done, I think he is a bad match with Embiid because he like to operate in the midrange just like Embiid. The Knicks have a lot of options.

Interesting...

Knicks and Minnesota
Knicks receives 17th pick, James Johnson

Minnesota receives 38th pick

Knicks, Thunder, Suns
Knicks receives Ricky Rubio, 10th pick

Suns receives Chris Paul, 38th pick, Dallas 2023 1st round

Thunder receives Kelly Oubre, 27th pick

Knicks and Boston

Knicks receives Gordan Heyward, 14th pick

Boston receives Kevin Knox, Elfrid Payton, 38th pick

Knicks and Orlando

Knicks receives Aaron Gordon, Aminu, 15th pick

Orlando receives Dennis Smith jr, Wayne Ellington

Knicks and Washington

Knicks receives John Wall, 9th pick

Washington receives Kevin Knox, Dennis Smith Jr, Julius Randle, 27th pick

Knicks and Lakers

Knicks receives Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green, future 1st round

Lakers receives Dennis Smith jr, Reggie Bullock

These are some interesting trade ideas.

Especially the Suns trade idea.

Make them match. The threat of the luxury tax on a cheap owner is what you’re banking on. If they match, so be it. But press for the best free agents for the team, then move on after.
Oh in both those cases they’re matching, especially Ingram. Those are instances where if the tax was an issue, they’d cut corners elsewhere.

Sonics laugh you off the phone

Knicks, Thunder, Suns

not awful, but the Suns probably say no. Suns would be trying to flip Paul by the deadline.

Knicks and Boston

Knicks receives Gordan Heyward, 14th pick

Boston receives Kevin Knox, Elfrid Payton, 38th pick

Boston doesn’t need extra bodies. They’d be tryna give you 14/26/30 for 8/27

Knicks and Orlando

Knicks receives Aaron Gordon, Aminu, 15th pick

Orlando receives Dennis Smith jr, Wayne Ellington

not even close. Why use a pick to part with Gordon when they can get a pick for him? Besides, no Isaac for next year = price went up

Knicks and Washington

Knicks receives John Wall, 9th pick

Washington receives Kevin Knox, Dennis Smith Jr, Julius Randle, 27th pick

fair if Washington wanted to detonate everything

Knicks and Lakers

Knicks receives Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green, future 1st round

Lakers receives Dennis Smith jr, Reggie Bullock

ain’t no future firsts for LA.

That’s my assumption too, but it’s worth the risk to me bc of the weak FA class. I completely discounted Brogdon last time too. We’re so bad that even to compete for the UFA’s we probably have to overpay their market value, might as well make offers to the cream of the crop (me expecting an expedited process helps too).

Danny Green is better than that entire package. Yea the feggit can't shoot but he's still a great defender and help defender and he's expiring. Lakerrs already punted Reggie Bullock. We also get Dennis fukking Smith who wouldn't play ahead of anyone in our guard rotation, not even Quinn Cook and if the deal wasn't bad enough, the Lakers throw in a future first.
:what:

This type of logic makes me see why Knicks fans think Ntilikina is not a bottom 5 pg.

It’s not Horford. It’s the assets. It’s moving up to 5 and 21 plus an additional first we can use to trade him or trade for someone else.

I’d rather have Horford plus assets who’s going to be good on the locker room and won’t affect the win total too much even if it’s for an extra year than 2 years of Chris Paul that i have to give assets up for and could potentially play us out of a top 5 pick.
Chris paul will be waaaaaaaay better on the team development than horford. And stop with these picks we got picks we can have a million picks But stars aren’t going to ask to be traded to us until we fix the reputation and show we are a solid upcoming team . If we become a desirable destination then we will have leverage

CP3 is a leader and would bring a sense of purpose to the team.

Al Horford though :mjlol:

Didn't we get Taj, Randle, Portis, Rasheed Wallace for all the big man mentorship.

The point guard is the leader of every team even if it's a small forward like LeBron. That's a leader. Team needs to invest in a selfless leader that makes everyone around them better and I'm not talking Frank Ntilikina. CP3 can make a Frank or Dennis improve or front office trades them.

Another 2 guys I wish they could've got were Goran Dragic and JJ Reddikk. Those guys are underrated leaders. I think Brooklyn Nets are gonna be crazy with Nash and Irving though and lead NY for the next few years.

I'd rather the Knicks trade picks to move up for Ball than to trade a pick for CP3. CP3 still plays at a high level but he's more likely to get injured halfway through the season than lead the team to an eighth seed. Personally I think it would suck to CP3 play out the last days of his prime on a team that will struggle to break 35 wins, and a scenario like that will probably invite more fukkery than legitimacy to the franchise.

We can do that without Chris Paul imo. It’s just faster and easier with him.
