Speaking from a Detroit perspective No Vasline did nothing at all

Dre Day had Easy on the ropes. Easy bounced back quick. Real Mutha----- G's was considered a harder song. So speaking from Detroit he was good. Easy made us Midwest boys see Dre as a phony :manny:

As a kid I was shocked to see Dre in that outfit. I thought Dre was that niqqa in the streets as a 9yr old. U couldn't say shyt wrong about Dre to me. That Real M G's changed my perspective on rap.

Im from Gary and I feel the same way. I had to get my older brother to explain what the "She thang" line was about. Never looked at Dre the same after that.

Folks (younger) really don't understand how SERIOUS No Vaseline was bruh....

Summer of 91' NWA had dropped the HARDEST most popular album in the country everybody was playin. Dissed Cube on record, had everybody:damn::gladbron::ooh::ooh::ooh:

Cube already got Boyz N The Hood under his belt, wrecks that shyt comes through later the same year and drops Death Certificate....no innanet, no leaks, first time everybody and they mama hearing that shyt from state to state the day that album dropped...the looks on folks faces, interviews, magazines, DJ's.....everybody was trippin. The album was already about to shake some shyt up, but to get to the end of the record and hear Cube go in the way he did on every member......that shyt was monumental to witness.

If you was a NWA fan, NV really had you questioning the shyt Cube was spittin putting everything into perspective.:pachaha::ohhh:

the chronic was larger then life but make no mistake about, eazy-e was STILL eazy-e

obviously, death row was somethin' new and the chronic bought in a new era in hip hop with dre goin' solo and snoop bein' the new nikka in hip hop

but eazy still clapped back with real compton city g's, had above the law doin' their thing and then signed bone who were larger then life once upon a time

eazy was still doin' quite alright, don't let that n.w.a movie fool you

I hate wen nikkas say eazy e was some super tough nikka ... He wasnt :francis:.... I mean yeah he kept saying "i still get paid off dre day etc" ... But what did eazy e do to suge or deathrow for basically stealing dr dre , michel'le and the d.o.c from eazy ?? Nothing !! then he turned around and filed a lawsuit againest suge , dre and deathrow instead ov handling it in the streets :what: if he did that in 2016 everyone would clown him how he isnt really about that life i respect eazy for coming up in the drug game making it in the music bizz but super tough nikka :skip::deadmanny:
:dahell:
Eazy was in the streets breh.:snoop:

Street cats always knew Eazy & Ren were the only real street nikkas in the crew that's why you'll notice Dre & Cube was the only ones to ever diss and Ren never got one by anybody who really knew...

Cube: King Sun, Cypress, Kam... Solo whupped his ass and took a pic with his own chain

Dre: Cold 187um (Big Hutch) & Kokane Luke & JT Money

". If somebody mainstream dropped a "No Vaseline" level diss in 2016 it would end their own career...it was that hard.

This. In the span of three minutes this man Cube:

- Made fun of them for showing up in a woman's video
- Made fun of them for living with whites
- Called them out for choosing a Jew over him
- Called them out for biting his style
- Lynched Eazy E
- Called Ren a tranny
- Claimed E was raping the others
- Dissed the President
- Called E a house nicca
Etc

He basically ticked ALL the boxes that rappers now will apologize for within 24 hours if they offended them even remotely while freestyling at a random place and getting caught on a cellphone.

Yet a year/two later Cube was bitin

Directed a video for the ones he dissed on the same album

And finally who would be the one to pull his hoe card but the closest one he fronted on and could go toe to toe with him on/off the mic...

As a kid back then after seeing Dre and Snoop make Eazy and Jerry Heller look like bozo's in the Dre Day video he seemed pretty lame to me. I think that was kinda the attitude of alot of casual fans. It was different but there was alot of similarities between 50 cent and Ja. Dre and Snoop was the biggest fukking thing in Rap music back then and even though that picture of Dre in the World Class Wreckin Crew was crazy nobody really gave a fukk outside of barbershop talk. I liked Eazy's disses to Dre and I LOVED Bone Thugs but Dre and Snoop were untouchable back then. Eazy wasn't outcasted from hiphop like Ja Rule was when 50 Cent was untouchable but he did drop an album the same day as Chronic and straight bombed. He was starting to get traction again around 94 but then the monsta did him in. I respect Eazy now but I didn't really understand what he did for hiphop as youngin back then.

Him taking sides with one of the Officers in that Rodney King beating plus breaking bread with Bush had many folks looking at him funny for a while. I remember Willie D calling him a sellout for supporting one of the officers in the King beating

My dad and my older cousins out in LA wouldn't let me drink the kool aid the machine backing dre offered. Mane MTV played Dre Day what seemed like every 30 damn minutes plus it was the jam of the day every fukkin week for like a year+ straight.

Blessed to see the box when I spent those summers out in LA as a youth. So i'm sure 99% of black america was riding with dre because most other states aside from cali didn't have an pay to watch video channel like the box. They had no choice but to watch and bump dre day. Youngins don't understand man, dre had that machine behind like crazy during that era. To see and hear real muthafukkin g's was mind blowing considering what eazy and ruthless was up against.
