I'm sorry brehs...but I remember it a lil different. Easy didn't fall off completely because ANYTHING west coast at that time was gonna rock ....but as far as beef went easy was catchin the beats and everybody who checked for hip hop knew it. No Vaseline bout crushed everybody but cube...but once snoop got involved on dre day and chronic it was a rap.

Easy was finding talent in cleveland after that...suge had home conducting business elsewhere....just so happened Bone would become legends...easy dope for that, bounce back game crazy. But easy was catchin a lotta shyt.

I thought the thread title said Eazy not NWA

Cube is in my top 3.. I agree that No Vas destroyed (at the time) what was left of NWA but Eazy as a solo artist and business man still had a strong rep.

Even the Snoop/Dre diss records didn't destroy (or as we say now "ether") Eazy

Eazy responded

His stance was clear.. "He still made money off Dre"

He was still selling a lot of records and finding new talent that he helped sell a lot of records

Yall clearly took that straight outta Compton movie literally

Eazy was getting paid....
Cuz I wasn't even considering that wack movie...I was just a listener at the time. Easy did get paid...but he asked about the beef and easy had no words for cube snoop or dre. He came out wit real muthafukkin g's to try to hit back but it was meh. Just recalling the facts fam. Easy still that nikka tho...straight bidness man.

After dre went to death row that rumor of suge whipping eazy azz without internet was crazy and it had everyone thinking dre was super thug combine with dre day song with snoop

I don't remember any rumors of Suge doing anything to Eazy before the internet, breh

Eazy's "gotta follow the sergeant's directions, or get that ass popped with the Smith and Wesson" line wouldn't have went over well,

if people thought Suge put hands on Eazy prior to that

Wasn't grown then but Dre Day was a smash hit, biggest dis song ever in terms of sales, billboards etc.
#8 in 1993 :bryan:, but Real Mu G's was pretty successful as well.

What I wonder is why he didn't diss Suge on it

I have no idea where they got the idea that he was going broke in the movie, it really seems that was thrown in there for spite because there was no evidence of that to the public

Hip hop didn't really get super fickle with the choosing sides shyt until east/west beef

Came in here to say this. People listened to music from all parties involved.

As far as the thread @thaKEAF "No Vaseline" effectively ended NWA. After that people were still checking for Eazy and the individual members, and people took a "wait and see" approach after "Dre Day". People laughed at it, but it wasn't like now when people draw lines between rapper A and B. Even the BIG and Pac shyt wasn't as divided as people make it seem.

Anyway, Eazy hit back hard with "Real Muthafucckin' Gs". Over all people received the Death Row stuff a lot better than Eazy's solo material, but Eazy wasn't done by any stretch of the imagination. Also, like people said he had BONE to fall back on.

Side note, despite Dre's pics from World Class Wreckin Cru being in the video, most fans didn't believe it was him. I was 17 when Eazy dissed Dre and nobody in my age bracket remembered that group. One of my boy's uncles told us "nah, that's Dre" a while after the song came out.

As far as "the 2016 equivalent"....there isn't one. The last diss that made noise on a national level was "Back 2 Back" and that shyt is super weak compared to "No Vaseline". If somebody mainstream dropped a "No Vaseline" level diss in 2016 it would end their own career...it was that hard.

What part of NWA did easy e not belong to tho...actually NWA was easy's :yeshrug:...he didn't escape because of the group, he had full verses and lines aimed at him and jerry heller...he just had ren and dre to take some of the shells too. Then with snoop and dre him and jerry took the shots alone....but in both instances easy was being fired on. Cube was just getting at dre and ren for being dummies....but the heat was for easy and his selling out. All easy could say was he was caking off dre...nothing else tho. He had no west coast artist of note...suge had that locked. But like I said...his finding bone erased the whole thing...THEY CAME IN WRECKING SHYT. And they held easy down with the behind the scenes real shyt ...east Cleveland was rockin wit him heavy. PAC was rockin wit easy too.

He survived like all real nikkas have to at some point in life...if not for the aids I actually think he would have became a major rival to death row (or maybe not due to PAC) and allied with puffy(or got puff and suge to chill utilizing PAC) his death hurt leaving only two labels to vie for the top....bone and big did the joint, bone and PAC did the joint, I'm sure he would have pressed that further.

Are you kidding me? Real Muthafukkin G'z is a top 5 diss of all time.

What I wonder is why he didn't diss Suge on it
He dissed Suge on 'Wut Would U Do?'

"Now I'll take out Suge and stomp down the row"...
