When he got shot me and my boys were like....he gonna make it :obama:

He had already taken like 5 or 6 shots in NYC so we figured he would recover, make a few more albums, couple songs about it and thats that

When the news broke that he passed, we were all like :ohhh::bryan:

shyt was hard to grasp for a minute as they were playing all his songs on Hot 97 that day and to hear all the work he had and how young....dude contributed alot to the culture in such a short life.

And I'm East Coast thru and thru and a bigger fan of BIG but I got no problem acknowledging what Pac meant to the game and the culture.

Was people crying?

Did people not care?

Was it retalition?

Did people outside of NY and Cali give a damn?

I think Red Alert announced it on Hot 97...Angie and Coco were crying on the radio. Me and my peeps went to a club in Manhattan where Red was DJing and he was playing Pac music...everybody was rocking to it :dj2:. On the real...Pac had respect all over...some people in NY just didn't like his tactics which are more understood today.

I'll always remember Pacs passing because it was right around my 8th bday, I remember listening to the AEOM, and MATW tape from my older cousins, use to refer to him as "Tupack Shacker" :heh: that day he died and the days after, me and my friends were thinking his death would be a national holiday, and that we'd get that day off from school.

:whoa: I aint no oldhead but the shyt was mad depressing when PAC died.:to: I remember nikkas cryin in the hallways at my school.

IMO biggie dying was worse, cause then outside of nas and jay(who where nowhere near their status today) there was nobody to look forward to listening to. I remember plenty of people including myself feeling like hiphop died with biggie.

Yeah but i was comparing Eazy E's death to Pacs. People dont really talk about how pacs death had a major budget behind it which pushed Pac into martyrdom.....Eazy didnt have such a privalage because he just lacked the material...This is why In 1995 eazys death gave Bone Thugs E 1999 album a special feel to it because it was the last fresh thing related to Eazy (even tho word has it he never heard the finished album, the world didnt didnt know all that at the time). ..........With Eazy I dont remember Dre or Cube making any real noise. Yet when Pac died everyone was making noise. By 1993 Pac was just stepping into those rap star shoes that Eazy was already in. Eazy was OG status in the game by 1994 so thats why when his death just came and went like that I was suprised at how Pacs death was so overhyped......Let be honest here.....No one was really stressing that Black Panther lineage when Pac was alive.....From what I remember that rape case kinda made him look like a dissapointment to his lineage. Lets be honest.....Dudes werent really sure if pac raped that girl or if he didnt..it was Mike Tyson all over again.....In 1994 both Pac and ODB got shot. Both of those shootings were big in 1994 yet as years have gone by people forget the specifics of ODB getting shot like that(off the head i also remember ODB getting shot in 1998....People forget ODb was eating those bullets back in the days). Pac was talking about killing the children of those from Bad Boy and aligned himself with street gang sh*t.....The same street gang sh*t Snoop once stressed was why he got killed. Pacs legacy downplays that negativity surrounding pac before his death but i wont forget it even if the fanatics are in denial. Mind you, Pac was starting admitted Hip Hop wars right behind the Million man march. Pacs highlight was 1996 due to his over the top marketing strategy with the music, drama and movies. Coincidently he was killed that same year. Eazy wasnt really popping musically like that before his death and didnt have unreleased material like that. These are the factors that I beleive play into why Pacs death was bigger then Eazys.....Not because of any folklore BS that Pac had more depth then other rappers. Like i keep stressing.....If Pac were alive in 2012 the current Hip Hop audience would be treating him like we currently do with Chuck D or KRS 1.

Pac was wayyyyy more versatile then those dudes.Pac could make any kind of song or go and be on some Will Smith shyt.I'm not knocking Chuck D or KRS, but I think Pac was just overall more talented. And quite frankly, he had a magnetism that few artist(any genre) possessed.Iconic, black James Dean type shyt.I think what happened to Pac was supposed to happen. That was the only way to stop him.Had he live, I think he'd be the most revered artist in the game today. But that's just my opinion :manny:

sorry breh but I don't believe that as a 7th-9th grader you were down with the dark themes of me against the world, aggressive gangsta shyt of AEOM, nor could you fully comprehend gridlock'd or poetic justice
so being 13/14 what about tupac dying made you upset? no more California Loves?

what a moron. So me as a 13 yr old, who was into Pac from the age of 9-10, bumping his shiit, watching his movies, dubbing his albums, bumping it in our walkmans, stealing rap magazines with articles on him, damn near seeing him as a super hero, we had no right to mourn Pac when died?

Word. When big died it happened out of nowhere and was much more sadder cuz he had kids and was regarded as the better more talented rapper

Pac was in the hospital for 6-7 days and also was that loudmouth talk too much ass nikka you knew would eventually get gunned up cuz he would never shut the fukk up.I was'nt shocked or saddened when he died

His death didnt have 1/10th the effect pac's had from a HURTING PEOPLE from the general public's standpoint. However it was an event cause it scared people. Like WHO NEXT type of effect.
