In 92',jay's album didnt drop till 96' and nas in 94'. And i wasnt looking at either as potential goats just off their first album.
You moving the goal posts clown. Point is that a LOT of major East Coast artists and hip hop artists in general were only going gold until around 96/97 with the shiny suit era. It was not frowned upon for you to be a gold artist at that point. Red had the respect of his peers and a loyal fan base and he hit plat with Muddy Waters so I REALLY don't see your argument when you continue to downplay his existence. Hell I bet if I would have put Method Man instead of Red that he would have lost by FAR but no one will debate his influence

1Blow your mind is commercial :mindblown: and the CA song isn't on his album :dahell:2 almost EVERY rapper that wanted crossover appeal brought the pop artists and producers to THEIR projects. Red STAYED an underground artist...plenty of artists followed his blueprint.
1.When you sample classic singing vocals as your hook, what are you trying to do?///
2. I dont care who's album it was on,why is he there?/ Is he selling out hiphop for a check, for attention or both?
You could argue it's not as bad as trying to make a more "pop" songs on HIS album, but somewhere out there, there's a nikka so raw that he feel like fukk doin that shyt all together cause HE thinks it's corny. Wouldnt his argument be just as strong as the one you're trying to make for red?/

I dont frown upon gold albums i just know that wasnt no gold nikka from nowhere in the early mid nineties in a running for the throne. And i think it's sad that the only time this nonsense is pushed is for east coast artists or those that cater to a more east coast sound. If anybody named a gold artist from anywhere else that didnt cater to the NY sound of that moment, the artist wouldnt be entertained as a historical goat front runner.

" In two particular interviews, Red mentioned he did 10 joints with Scott Storch, and 4 with Timbaland"

Did he release them :dahell: and both of them producers have done work with non commercial artists. How does him working with TRADITIONAL hip hop producers constitute him looking for commercial appeal :beli: and the 2 songs he did release with them are hardly commercial tracks...you are STILL grasping for straws :martin:
